A luxury self-catering holiday cottage nestled on the edge of the North York Moors National Park in the pretty village of Ampleforth. The Owlets is a 19th century single storey stone outhouse that has been recently renovated to a high standard with brand new fixtures and fittings, as well as traditional features such as solid oak floors and beams. We are located just 1 mile from Ampleforth College, and 4 miles from Helmsley. All welcome, including children and well behaved pets!
The room is spacious and south-facing within a comfortable home on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The house occupies a central position, two minutes walk from the local shop, a cafe and two excellent village pubs. There is also a leisure centre and playground in Ampleforth, and York is only 40 minutes away. Local attractions include Sutton Bank for biking and gliding; Castle Howard, the ruined abbeys of Reivaulx, Byland and Fountains, plus the bustling market town of Helmsley.
Ford End B&B is a private Annexe with its own entrance. The stone-built 18th century accommodation is at the edge of a pretty, hillside village a short walk from two excellent pubs. Located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park & Howardian Hills AONB the area is lovely for walks. Alternatively, a short drive to market towns Helmsley, Malton or 20 miles to York. We're also near historic sites: Byland Abbey, Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard. A well-behaved dog is welcome!
