Sydney Dogs and Cats Home (SDCH) was established in 1946 & today, is Sydney's only charity pound responsibly reuniting & rehoming lost & abandoned pets. Servicing multiple council areas across Sydney, the Home opens its doors to over 3000 pets each year & never places a time limit on any animal awaiting adoption.

The experience all takes place in and around our shelter in Carlton, 35 mins drive south of the CBD, which has been home to the lost and abandoned animals of Sydney since 1946. Known as the happy pound, we're only a small shelter, but we are bursting at the seams with love and care!
