Vad du kommer att göra

Socially distanced hike on 200 wooded acres which has been privately owned by the same family since the 1930s. Kate is the head of the Lake Charlotte History Society and the trail was once a town road to Lake Charlotte.. now Lake Taghkanic. You will see the remains of cars from the 1920s and 30s that have now become part of the forest.
We maintain the trails in what the Columbia County Conservatory calls a unique ecological setting.
Part of a farm started in 1790.
Offering a socially distanced experience to commune with nature in an untouched forest setting. We will introduce you to the property and point out different vistas and wildlife habitat.
It takes about two hours to hike the trails without stops. We do have a farm vehicle in case kids prefer to ride.
Bring a picnic, see wildlife or just commune with nature.
You will have 3 hours to explore this private preserve on your own after the initial tour. Dogs are welcome.
No hunting and carry in/carry out trash.
Beautiful spot in the Hudson Valley to escape it all.
Arrive, have an introduction and enter a pristine forest. Observation tower midway through the trails is a great place to see both the Berkshires and Catskills.
We will hide a Catskill gnome in the forest. If you find the gnome, you win a bottle of local cider or wine.
Other things to note
Bring bug spray and snacks.
Water, backpack and hiking boots are a must due to elevation gains.
Consider bringing hiking poles.
We prefer that you do not set campfires to maintain the pristine nature of the forest.
Please be prepared to carry out trash.

The land has been in the family since 1935. We maintain the trails and work to keep the land as a conservation area.
The trails go through high rocky ridges and wetlands and you will see the Hudson Valley at its most beautiful and unspoiled best.
I work with a local history organization and started the Lake Charlotte History Society to preserve the local history of this area. Lake Charlotte Road went through our property from 1909 until 1950.
I have hiked this property my whole life and know every nook and cranny. It is a beautiful breathtaking sanctuary that we love to share.
