Vad du kommer att göra
We’ll drive 3 hours from Kuala Lumpur to a traditional Semai village, where we’ll stay in huts built by our native friends.
Guided by the local experts, we'll learn to weave accessories used for the Semai’s spiritual dances, practice shooting the traditional Semai hunting blowpipe and swim in a nearby river, just like the local do. Our meals will be a feast of indigenous dishes to be had in one of their homes.
On day two, we’ll hike one to two hours into the rainforest to search for the rafflesia flower, one of the largest on earth. Finally, we’ll swim in the cold waters of a nearby secluded waterfall.

I first visited the village in late 2016 to meet with one of the leaders of their Eco-tourism initiative, which happens to be the tribe name of the natives here, the SEMAI people.
From personal experience and alike most of the indigenous people in Peninsular Malaysia, they are naturally shy people. But as we kept the friendship and built trust through a few concerted efforts of organizing trips here, they have slowly embraced us like family.
Our Semai friends, we are well on our way to INSPIRE others to travel and adventure while EMPOWERING the local communities we work with.
I co-organize this with another Adventure Organizer, Jennyfer! She's of an even smaller native tribe originating from Borneo, the Kenyah people.
