I am hiker with nearly 20 years of experience and have hiked every known and less known trail in the Swiss Alps. I believe hiking is the best way to discover this beautiful country and look forward to taking you along for the hike. I have hiked this particular trail multiple times and know it like the back of my hand.

We will start off by taking the train to the village of Wilderswil. If you are not familiar with the region, please let me know and I will help you plan your route. We will follow the hiking trail along the Saxetenbach river through the Sytiwald forest. This trail is barely frequented by the locals or tourists, so you will get to immerse yourself completely in the mystical alpine forest domain…

I will plan the hike in accordance with local weather forecast and adjust the itinerary if necessary. If you are feeling confident, we may also take a slightly longer trail. The length of this hike is 14.08 km (7.08 miles) with a total ascent of 826 m (2'710 feet).

Our path will follow the Saxetenbach river, first through the Syltiwald forest and then to the village of Saxeten. This village remains untouched by the mass tourism of Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen. On busiest days, I have encountered no more than 10 tourists on the trail. There is a local farmer here that sells his own cheese - produced and sold locally Towards the end we will visit an abandoned hotel that features an amazing view of Lake Brienz
