Hello! We’re Euan and Ryan, two born-and-bred locals, who are very passionate about our beautiful city and its history. Euan studied history and Ryan nursing, so together we have medical history covered! We’ve also been giving historical walking tours of our hometown for a number of years, in both the Old and New Towns, and we know all the nooks and crannies of Auld Reekie!
You might be surprised to know that Edinburgh was once the centre of medicine throughout the English-speaking world! So, join us on this Marvellous Medical Tour, as we get under the skin, and dissect the fascinating, gruesome, and, at times, hilarious medical history of this city... Starting at Greyfriars Kirkyard, we'll be venturing into the Southside, with many magnificent examples of beautiful Victorian architecture, as well as lots of green parks and gardens.
We'll see the house where Arthur Conan Doyle lived while he was inspired to write Sherlock Holmes, as well as the place where Darwin studied in Edinburgh, not to mention the surgeries where trailblazers of science transformed the world of medicine.
