Vad du kommer att göra

We meet on the dock to prepare with lessons about how to orient and work with the paddle and board. After some sunscreen we are off into the calm Waters of the Bay. I teach prone facing on the board swimming in order to get used to the water temperature and understand that the boards stability - it doesn't want you to fall off! We move into the wind for cardio, and with the wind for strength training, balance and flexibility poses starting with planks and activities with you body weight close to the board. I progressively get each person onto their seat, knees and then up onto their feet using the combination of cardio and strength training moves like push ups and squats. We will burn calories, tone and find out some fun ways to get that cardio in that can only be done on SUP! The experience ends with a paddle into the bay for lesson on natural habitat of the Flora and Fauna of Shelter Haven. Finally we finish with stretching on the board and some very friendly and fun yoga postures that feel amazing on the SUP while back near the dock. Unaccompanied guests end up making friends and forming bonds and with other participants! And if all are agreeable, I can introduce a bit of light competition between guests with unique fitness moves that can only be performed on the SUP! Photos at the end and some hydration back on the dock complete the experience! Let's have fun on the SUP!

I have been instructing groups and personal training for over 30 years and teaching yoga for over 23 years . SUP looked like a fun way to be outside and on the water but seemed a tad bit boring to do it alone! I tried yoga on the board but knew there was much more we could do! As a passionate strength trainer and cardio junky I created PaddleFit! This 75 minute experience combines the beat of cardio intervals, strength training and flexibility/yoga poses all while on the water in the safe Bay environment in southern beach town of NJ. In addition I provide facts about the flora, fauna and history of our Shelter Haven Bay. All levels can learn to be comfortable with SUP using my unique method of "feeling" the water and understanding balance on the board. Super fun for groups and individuals learning that they can do ANYTHING on the SUP!

We will explore the area of Shelter Haven Salt Bay in Avalon/Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Due to the nature of the safety of all individuals we do stay local within one half mile of the main entry dock.
