Shangrila has gotten even better. My son, Gino, & his sweet little dog, Frida, are cohosting with me. Gino is very knowledgable about the many hiking trails in the area.

The delightful Occidental Bohemian Farmers Market runs Fri. evenings from the end of June till the end of Oct.

If you long to get your hands dirty, but don't have a garden, we'll share ours. There's always something to do!

Boendet
Shangrila is a completely self sufficient rental. You have refrigerator in the closet. Some or all of your continental breakfasts are in the frig or the welcome basket. A Kurig is in the bathroom for coffee or tea. Teas are in the drawer below Your spacious room overlooks a redwood forest with a meadow & wooded hills beyond. You may think you want to visit Sonoma County vineyards, beaches, or the Russian River, but once you're here, you may not want to leave. The room is quiet. You have your own bathroom called "The Mexi" because of Mexican tiles & mementos of travels in that country. There is safe, off street parking. You are within walking distance of the picturesque village of Occidental where there are good restaurants, gift shops, & tennis courts. People also love to ride bicycles around here even tho the roads are narrow, curvy, & steep.

Sonoma County is more than awesome Redwoods, stunning coast, and excellent wine. It also has a vibrant art scene. We are pleased to make some of this available to our guests. Their is a library of books by local authors about this area to enjoy here or purchase as keepsakes. There is also visual art for sale as well as ideas of other places to see work by locals.
