To the North is the Brecon Beacons National Park, to the south is the Industrial Heritage of the valley. The Capital, Cardiff can be either reached by car or public transport. Ideal location for exploring south Wales.

Boendet
This is an original miners cottage and has 2 open fire places in the kitchen and living room...where we are happy to supply coal and kindling during your stay so you are able to be able to light your own fire. Creating the warm and cosy atmosphere of past times. The cottage offers a unique insight into the heritage of a coal mining society and its culture. Nature has reclaimed the surrounding areas once again. With the grime of the collieries gone, nature has reclaimed the surrounding area and the valleys are a beautiful place once again.
The Rhondda was king of the coal valleys with 66 pits open in its heyday and housed a huge population of miners.

As well as this great heritage a short car ride north will bring you to the Brecon Beacons, one of Wales National Parks where wild horses roam free and there are many great walks and cycle rides.

There is a plan to open the Rhondda Tunnel - see this web site http://www.rhonddatunnelsociety.co.uk/

There are walks straight out from the house into the mountains, with stream and waterfalls. There are other waterfall walks and places to visit https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/AttractionsNear-g551971-d4206674-Four_Waterfalls_Walk-Ystradfellte_Carmarthenshire_Wales.html

Gästers tillgång
Guests have full access to the entire house which is for their own use. There is a secure back yard for bicycle storage and parking is on the road outside with unrestricted parking.

Andra saker att notera
This is a good value holiday accommodation, affordable for 3 generation holidays and a chance to slow down. A great opportunity to light open fires and enjoy the Welsh countryside yet still have the convenience of all the amenities nearby and with a wonderful choice of eateries including the 100 year old Hendrewen Inn at the end of the road. The cottage has recently been refurbished and includes everything you need to be independent. Whilst offering an excellent base to explore the surrounding area for scenery or to experience the mining culture and communities of the valley. The ground floor has a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and a parlor room with an option to be made up with a sofa bed as an additional separate bedroom. It has good wi-fi and guests have been impressed with the speed -keeping you connected and allowing you to view your own programmes on your own devices.

The neighbourhood is very friendly, the Rhondda Valley is known for its strong sense of community and spirit. There are plenty waterfalls and walks straight outside the cottage as well as children's play parks nearby.
Food shopping - there is a corner shop 15 mins walk away in Tynewydd, a bit further (5 mins drive) in Treherbert there is a Spar, Taste of Bombay curry house (01443 773000) that delivers. Shopping - Treorchy also has an eclectic mix of gift shops, tattoo parlors and beauty salons.
