We are near Woodstock/Quechee and you’ll love us if you enjoy natural setting, rustic woods surrounded by old stone walls and a sweet pond. Get out and explore the Upper Valley, returning to the cozy 1955 El Rey trailer or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. We are experienced innkeepers from So Pasadena CA, Bissell House Bed & Breakfast for the last 15 years. Glamping with us is a great way to enjoy your social distancing. You can also rent both trailers and have the entire place to yourself!

Looking for a warm and cozy space? Our vintage trailers are just the spot! Our 12 acre property is heavily wooded and late spring through fall are great times to enjoy the outdoors.

Camping with a trailer is a fun experience. While we do not have an enclosed kitchen, our outdoor “summer kitchen” cook station has some great basics. These include a 3 burner stove, BBQ grill and smoker, pans, utensils, olive oil, communal mini fridge and dishwashing area, table and chairs. Bring anything else that you want to add for your own comfort, such as extra cooler. You may want to bring flashlights and rain gear. There are many choices for dining in our area if you prefer to eat out.

Our Curtis Wright is 72 years old and the El Rey is 64 years old. Please expect some vintage aspects, such as door handles, screens, windows, awnings etc. that function according to their age and we will be upgrading them periodically. These are not new modern trailers and we think that adds to the appeal! However they are clean and cozy!

Your trailer is down by the pond, nearby is the large fire pit, composting outhouse, stove and BBQ grill. Our sweet wildlife pond is pristine, spring fed, and has an abundance of wildlife in and around it. You may even see the barred owls hunting for frogs at night. Both trailers are pondside, the El Rey is across from the Curtis Wright.
Swimming is allowed, Please read the house rules regarding rinsing off prior to swimming and refraining from getting suntan oil etc. in the pond. We rent either the 1955 El Rey or our 1947 Curtis Wright Airstream. See our other listing for the second trailer. This listing is for the 1955 El Rey. This is our 2nd year to offer the Curtis Wright Airstream, please see our other listing for it. It’s titled “Good Night Moon Vintage” Airstream Glamping.

Nights can be chilly so be prepared with warm clothes. Please be aware of weather conditions as rain can impact your camping! That’s part of what makes it so fun to be inside a trailer instead of in a tent on the ground! However mud can be part of your experience outside the trailer.

You are welcome to build a fire in the fire pit and toast marshmallows or grill....Kindling is plentiful around the grounds, however please purchase your wood locally for whatever you intend to use, or order from us. We do ask that you start your fire the old fashioned way and do NOT use gas, diesel etc. which will leech into the pond and harm our wildlife. We have charcoal bags and wood on site for sale usually, advance request is much appreciated and pay upon arrival by the bundle.

Our wonderful resident bats do a great job at night clearing insects! Sit out by the pond and watch them arrive at dusk!
Our Phoebe Flycatchers build their mud nests all over the property and have 2 baby bird hatchings usually by mid-summer. They help keep insects down as well. If it’s a clear night, the stars are usually amazing in the sky over the pond.

We live up in the house and are available to you as much as you’d like! We prefer that you do contact us with your needs to ensure a great experience.
We have a new composting toilet outhouse. For showers, guests can make the 5.7 mile drive down to Quechee State Park and pay a $4 day fee to use the solar showers which take quarters. We also have a freestanding shower enclosure that you may use with solar water bags that you will fill daily and heat when there is sun. It will take time so plan ahead. If it’s been cool or cloudy, the water will not be warm.

This year 2020 we will be building our outdoor shower so stay tuned for photos when that is completed.

Our 1955 El Rey is one of our 2 trailers, a cozy 20 feet in length. The bed is a full to queen size. We provide fresh linens, pillows, blankets, and towels. There are closets and a front table and seating area, outside seating with awning. The trailer kitchen area has a counter however we request that guests cook outside at our camp cook station due to propane/open flame concerns. We have outdoor seating around the fire pit. You may cook on the 3 burner propane stove or BBQ grill and we also have a small community mini refrigerator. Or start your fire in the pit and grill there.

We bring in State Park “daily tested for purity” Artesian well water. We also now have well water on site. We rely on you to notify us if you use more than one container daily. Included in your stay is whole bean coffee and cream(cream is in the camp kitchen), a coffee maker and grinder, and in the communal kitchen, our organic tea bar, electric kettle, microwave and refrigerator. Also in cabinets in your trailer are basic dishes, silverware, mugs, sugar, salt and pepper. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourselves and returning your daily dishes to your trailer.

For chilly nights we have an electric heater in the camper and extra blankets. The El Rey has a small fan for when it’s warmer. Quechee State Park is about 5.7 miles away, has solar showers that take quarters and entry is $4 per day. The park closes on October 15 but we have water of course.

The composting outhouse has towels, tp, bug spray, cleanser, and a mop and broom for the camp if you wish to clean your trailer mid-stay. Help yourselves but please return to the outhouse after use.

We do have WiFi and cell service here... The network and password are listed on our listing and also on a sign in the outhouse. Sometimes depending on your carrier and the weather, service can be impacted inside of our aluminum trailers. Just step outside and refresh to get your signal. You may or may not have service inside the trailer depending on the above mentioned aspects. Many of our guests say they are coming to “unplug” for their stay. We have just installed a new modem down near the trailers and the signal is strong to both, there also is one provided Ethernet cable near the refrigerator for those with a laptop.

IMPORTANT-PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN 3 and 7 pm.
We understand that you may wish to arrive later at the end of your day, but this is not a location where we can accommodate arrivals after dark. We need to show you the nuances of the trailers, cook station, composting outhouse and property. After checking in, you can head back out for dinner, shopping etc. as we are a mere 5 miles from Quechee. We further request that you communicate your arrival time no later that early the day of so that we can greet you. We plan our day around your arrival and ask that you respect our time as well.
Any photography done with our property must be for personal use only and not professional use nor intended for publication. You must have advance (prior to arrival) permission for professional photography which will also require a contract for fees and terms. We also must restrict the use of our property to registered guests only, not your friends.

All guests are asked to read our house manual on Airbnb so you are familiar with sensitive issues regarding requirements such as NO open flames in the trailer, no gas or diesel in our fire pit as it drains in rainy weather right into our wildlife pond, swimming rules , and electric use inside among other things. Please help us be environmentally responsible by turning off lights, fans, heaters when you are not on site.

If your trip is planned for summertime, our neighbor on Ellison Road at Lone Pine Farm has fantastic “pick your own” blueberries in July/August. They are remarkable 25 year old producing bushes...treat yourself to some fun! The Annual Quechee Balloon Festival is mid-June but has been rescheduled this year. From July onward, don’t miss The Song Garden and Tea House in Cornish NH. It’s a gorgeous cutting garden and self serve tea house set in the Cornish Art Colony. A real treat! The tea house opens July 1. Fall is a perfect season to enjoy everything the area has to offer...Apple cider, farmer’s markets, shopping in quaint towns, foliage, and local art!

Andra saker att notera
We are off the main road a bit on dirt roads, approximately 4.5 miles to Quechee or 7.8 miles to Woodstock, off Rte 4. During mud season or in heavy rain, 4 wheel drive is helpful. We are in a private association with only a few neighbors with one road in for access. While it might feel remote and wild if you are a city person, it is very peaceful here. We are on site and available if you need us.

We are on a private road on a mountaintop so access is limited to just our guests and our neighbors. Wildlife abounds in the heavily wooded neighborhood. You might see deer, raptors, turkey, bear and occasionally moose as well as all sorts of birds, even Pileated Woodpeckers. Our Phoebe Flycatchers fledge near or in the summer kitchen each year. As a special treat, our Barred Owl fledglings were here every evening in July last year, you can still hear them at night sometimes well into the fall.

We live on site and can assist with anything that you may need. Feel free to call or text, we are up in the house we are building. If it’s hot we may want to take a dip in the pond ourselves!
If you find yourselves with questions, we prefer that you contact us for help. It’s much better to ask for assistance in advance than be disappointed afterwards when a simple call might be all it takes for a resolve. We want you to have a great time in at our place!.
