Rest is a very modest 3 bedroom open planned home with a fully enclosed backyard.

Sleeping up to 6 comfortably, including the family pet (please advise) our home is in historic Yungaburra. Walking distance from shops and restaurants.

A wonderful place to stay, rest, and continue on your adventure.

Rest is a very modest but perfect home to use for the whole family to get away from the hustle and bustle of city.

Built in the 1970’s, our charming three bedroom and two bathroom bungalow is in the heart of Yungaburra and is the perfect getaway for your Atherton Tableland stay.

For accuracy: the pictures make the house appear shiny and new. She’s lovingly taken care of but not new. There is still features from her 1970’s glam past that are yet to replaced. She is however is taken care of and clean as pin.

Be honest in booking numbers. We are a small family business. Don't make it awkward when we discover you have your aunt murial and uncle Dave staying. We restrict numbers not only for insurance but because we live in a gorgeous neighbourhood with amazing neighbours. Noisey guests will be asked to leave.

The House.
- Open planned living.
- Three comfy bedrooms. Two Queens and one double.
- A separate games room with a TV, couch and a six-person table to enjoy drawing, reading or playing any of the board games we have in the house. A great spot for UNO.
- Cooling, and heating system.
- Kitchen fully equipped with cookware, dishware, some spices, etc. and some sugar and milk to get you started.
- Two full bathrooms.
- A front deck to enjoy your morning coffee on.
-Laundry room with full-size washer and dryer available for guest use.
- A sunroom with a sitting area looking on to the back garden.
- Fully enclosed backyard.
-Parking is FREE in the double lockable garage. *Please do not park on the front lawn or in the neighbor’s sheds driveways located next to our houses sheds. Please don’t park on the front lawn.
-Beautiful dining room table with seating for six to gather for meals, games or just to spend time with friends and family.
-A comfortable living room to hang out in and watch TV on a 45 inch flat screen TV. Netflix is provided.
-We provide enough tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and some bottled water to start your trip.
- In winter we provide enough fire wood to get you started. Additional firewood can be purchased from the Pit Stop service station.
-Fresh bed linens is provided. We place towels, wash cloths, and shower gel in the bathroom. There are extras if needed in each bathroom. 1 hair dryer, one iron & ironing board, *initial round* of toilet paper, washing powder, paper towels, & coffee provided, if you need more, you can stock up from the nearby Foodworks.


This is a family home, we love and invest a lot of time into her. We are a young family and we love leasing our home as a holiday home however we have had some tricky guests and so we ask for you to consider our dos and donts as crazy as the seem before booking. It’s not to turn you off booking we are reasonable people our past booking say so but it’s just to make sure we are on the same page.

We assume all of our guests will be respectful and honest. Again we are really reasonable people so please help us preserve our house for yours and others' future stays by accepting these guidelines before you book:

- For accuracy. The pictures make the house appear shiny and new. She is not. She is however loved and taken care of.

- Please be honest about the number of people staying at the property. We feel the house comfertably sleeps 6 at most. Our nightly rate has been kept low and affordable. It is based on four person's staying here if there is more please pay the additional person charge. We are a young family trying to get ahead.

- We ask for your honesty in booking for humans as we ask the same for your pets. If brining them please let me know on booking by message and pay the pet fee. It’s cheaper than a boarding kennel should you have left them at home but nobody wants that because they are family to and they deserve a little rest to. We also need to know how many fur babies you have coming also. Pets out numbering the humans is not okay.

-There is NO smoking allowed inside the property. If smoking outdoors, please keep doors and windows closed so the smell does not enter the house.

-Absolutely NO major parties. We're ok with small celebrations with the allotted amount of guests allowed/booked for (no more than 6).

-Decorations: Absolutely NO GLITTER or stickers. Any decorations you put up must all be taken down including any tape residue. Any tape residue or damage found on walls due to your decorations may result in being charged.

-Please leave the house in the condition you entered it in. THE CLEANING FEE DOES NOT COVER EXCESSIVE MESS. The $90 fee is to cover the expense hiring our awesome cleaner, Joy, to clean all linens, kitchen, bathrooms, living areas, dusting, and up-keeping the house. It does not include her cleaning up after any disrespectful messes left behind. Please follow easy check-out instructions we'll have provided you. If you follow those, you’ll be in good shape.
-Please communicate with us about anything that has been broken during your stay. Any excessive mess or damaged items MAY result in withholding of deposit. We are reasonable people and will understand if accidents happen, but please do not try to "hide" it from us as we want to make sure everything is taken care of or fixed before our next guests come to enjoy our property.
-RESPECTING OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD. Remember, you're not renting a hotel room, you're renting a house in a neighbourhood where people live. We ask that you respect our neighbourhood and neighbours by keeping your exterior noise level down at ALL times during the day. ANY complaints received from our neighbours (whether noise or just being a disturbance in any way) will result in the withholding of deposit.
-Internet Use: NO illegal downloading of any sort, no p2p file sharing.

We try to communicate it as clear as possible in our listing in our description and broken down in the "House Rules" before guests book and agree to those terms. We try to be as upfront about it on our listing as much possible avoid surprises.

Early check-in or late check-outs must be PRE-ARRANGED. Please do not ask on day before or the day of arrival as we will NOT honour it. We have our cleaners scheduled at specific times and are unable to make last minute changes. Any non pre-arranged late check-outs will result in withholding of deposit.

The only way we can guarantee an early check-in is if the night prior to your stay is available, we can block it off for you at half the price. Same goes for late check-out, if there is no one booked the night of your check out date, we can block off the night for you for a guaranteed late check-out at half the price.

While we would love to be able to accommodate luggage drop off requests, there simply isn’t a ‘holding area” in our home that wouldn’t interfere with our cleaners ability to move freely during their clean. There are several luggage handling services that would be able to store your luggage for you, and even deliver it to the house at check-in.
Security Deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $500
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and a two bay shed.
Interaction with guests
We live close by and so should you need anything during your stay, we are available via message through your booking platform or by text (in case of an urgent matter).
You will have a detailed guest book available at the property with tips on how to work the TV, rubbish, check-out instructions, and will also serve as a local guide for my favourite restaurant and bar recommendations.
Other things to note
A lot of time, care, and money has been put into this home that we LOVE. I only want to have the best guests who will respect my property AND my neighbours. Not looking for rowdy crowds to stay here!

Rest is located in the village circle and is short walking distance to all town amenities shops, pubs, and restaurants.

Our home is in driving {or walk if your super keen it's approx 3kms} distance to Tinaburra and the Avenue of honour. Lake Eacham and Lake Barrine are just a further 10 minutes drive from town.

There are a number of lovely walks that can be accessed with the chance of seeing platypus, wallabies and perhaps the rare tree kangaroo. Dogs are welcome in most (exception to national parks) providing they are on a lead.
