Perfectly located yet in a quiet neighbourhood, this house is indeed an excellent base from where one can fully explore Malta.
Our traditional holiday home is situated in the heart of the native locality offering a wide choice of interesting places to explore. Balluta Bay is a 5 to 6minutes walk away. This is a small beach in St. Julian's, ideal not only for swimming but also for romantic evening walks.
Balluta Bay has a tiny sandy beach with light green waters and is located on the north east coast of Malta. The sliver of sand in Balluta Bay is mostly visible during low water levels during summer and has a rocky shoreline with plenty of flat rocks to sunbathe on, with clear waters excellent for swimming, water sports and snorkelling. The bay is also a popular diving spot for beginners, since it has a sandy seabed.
The beach in Balluta Bay is located just below the popular promenade that stretches from Sliema to St. Julian’s and is very popular for brisk walks or light strolls all year round. The beach is just in front of the beautiful neo-gothic Carmelite Parish Church with several shops and restaurants close by.
Public transport is efficient in Malta and the nearest bus stop is 3 minutes away on foot.

We can also gladly arrange the airport transfer for your utmost comfort and stress free journey. I also organise cruise trips to Comino, Blue lagoon and Santa Maria beach as well as Gozo on a nice cruise boat at very competitive prices. For the ultimate experience, you can also opt for a door to door journey. We can pick you up from the house, to the ferry terminal and back to the house. Leave the stress to us while you soak the Maltese sun in the mesmerizing Mediterranean sea.
Visiting Gozo and comino and the amazing beaches that surround these islands ( blue Lagoon and Santa Marija bay) on board a very nice cruise boat is a must when you visit Malta. I can book these trips for you at only 20 euros per person !
If you need more information or any further assistance to make the most out of your Maltese holiday please dont hesitate to contact me.

Var du kommer att vara

Tas-Sliema, Malta

Originally a small fishing village, the present-day Sliema is home to thousands of residents. The small fishing village of days gone by transformed into being the home of British inhabitants during the 19th and early 20th century, looking for a quiet respite, yet being close to the then commercial hub of Valletta. Over the past 50 years or so, the town and the surrounding areas underwent another transformation of commercial development and saw the beautiful stately properties of its past inhabitants replaced by large apartment buildings and modern offices.
Its coastline extends towards Ta’ Xbiex and Gżira (South) on one side and towards St. Julian’s (North) on the other. The front, in fact, is a wide walkway that joins these three towns, where you’ll find crowds any time of day. Early in the morning and in the early evening there’ll be loads of people out for a jog on this same promenade while those less keen on exercising their leg muscles will be kick-starting their day in one of the numerous cafès overlooking the harbour.
Sliema still has a very distinct feel to it. A character found nowhere else and appreciated by locals and travellers alike. Offering various hotels as well as bars and pubs, Sliema can be a good choice for a holiday location for couples and groups travelling together. Neighbouring St. Julian’s, with its nightlife area known as Paceville is a stone’s throw away, while Valletta is nearby as well (and easy to reach with a short ferry trip across Marsamxett Harbour), offering plenty of culture, history and places of interest to appreciate.
The area is a popular tourist destination but is also a sought after residential area for local residents, with some of the most expensive property available in the country. Sliema is viewed as an elite area to live in and is loved by its inhabitants. With the rapid changes the town has seen in recent decades and the ever increasing problem of traffic congestion and parking, however, it’s undeniable that it’s lost a little of its friendly character and has fallen prey to highly lucrative property development.
Nevertheless, it’s one of the rare places in Malta that has a blend of hustle and bustle of city life, good food and recreation and a slight British tint with its pubs and easy going lifestyle.
The house is very close to St Julians ad Paceville as well. t. Julian's or San Giljan, is located on the Maltese coast, north of Valletta and it is mostly famous for its thriving nightlife and touristic activity. This town is a hub for new and luxurious hotels, many different kinds of restaurants and trendy nightclubs, mostly centred in an area known as Paceville.
For this reason, St. Julian's is popular amongst both the locals and tourists alike, especially during the summer months, where visitors take advantage of the good weather to enjoy long walks on the seafront promenade. The landscape of St. Julians is dominated by the tallest building in Malta, Portomaso Tower that stands at 98 metres.
St. Julian's has a population of around 8,000 people, and its name comes from the patron saint of the town, Saint Julian. The traditional summer festa is celebrated annually on the last Sunday of August.

Before 1800, St. Julian's was just a small fishing village surrounding Balluta and Spinola bays, with very few buildings except for the Spinola Palace, the old parish church, a few fishermen’s huts and a few farm houses in the countryside. It appears that the St. Julian's area remained rural for so long because of the concern of attacks by the Muslims.
However, it seems that people dwelled in St. Julian’s much earlier. In fact, in the 20th century, some tombs of the Roman period were discovered in Balluta, on the site where today there is the Chapel of the Sacred Heart Convent.
