Characterful, cosy and quirky late 17th century weaver's cottage situated in the suburb of Fartown approximately 1.4 miles from Huddersfield town centre and train station. There are excellent links from the train station to Manchester airport, Leeds, York and London via Wakefield. Bus stops are close by (for Huddersfield and Bradford) and there is easy access to the M62 (approximately 2 miles away).

Boendet
The small cottage is full of character, with an interior that's a fusion of vintage, retro, industrial, rustic and country cottage elements. The main space is the cosy kitchen/living room (approx 5 metres x 3 metres in size). The kitchen section has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, smoothie maker, single induction hob and small oven. The simple living room has two comfortable leather armchairs, coffee table, and electric heater. The upstairs bedroom (approx 3 x 3metres in size) contains one double bed, an electric heater in the bedroom, hanging space for clothes, and a wall-mounted 40 inch television with main freeview channels in HD. The new bathroom suite has an electric shower. There is NO WiFi in the cottage.

Outside the cottage is a private/fenced garden with outdoor table and two chairs, that guests are welcome to use. There is an adjoining cottage next door (it is currently unoccupied, but there could be workmen on site at times doing work renovating it). The cottage accommodate 1-2 guests due to its size. Although situated in a fairly busy urban area, the cottage is set back from the road which gives it a more removed and secluded feeling and usually its pretty quiet.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onwards and the departure time is by 11.am.

Other things to note
Please be aware that there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage. There will be a selection of foodstuffs available (in the fridge and on the shelves) for the preparation of breakfast, which could include the following: bread, butter, breakfast cereals, various spreads, filter coffee and tea. Although the cottage is Andy's home, on occasions he may need to call by for various reasons, but would let you know in advance. Whenever possible, guests will be greeted by Andy, otherwise guests can use the key safe for self check-in from 3pm onwards.

Gästers tillgång
All parts of the cottage and garden (to the right of the path looking from the cottage door) will be accessible to guests.

Andra saker att notera
There is no gas central heating in the house, and instead there are 2 electric heaters (one in the main living space and one in the bedroom). There is also an electric shower and an electric water heater to provide hot water in the bathroom and kitchen basins. The cottage accommodates 1-2 people due to its size. There may be renovation work going on from time to time to the cottage next door, but I have know way of knowing when or for how long.

Hi. I’m Andy. I divide my time between three lifestyle jobs, a travel writer & photographer, building Flatpack furniture and being an Airbnb host, making my cottage in Fartown on the outskirts of Huddersfield available to guests. I enjoy working on the cottage, making improvements and thinking of little details and ideas that can enhance a guests experience. When I’m not busy working, I’m taking my dog Sweep (a Sproodle) on walks particularly while staying at my partners house in Meltham, on the edge of the Peak District. Away from work and dog walking, I enjoy golf, tennis, going to brunch with friends and building furniture out of reclaimed wood. I hope you enjoy your stay at my cottage also know as The Nest. Check out my guidebook of places to eat and drink, plus other places of interest.
