The Granary is set in the quiet village of Carleton-in-Craven, just 2 miles from Skipton. It is attached to the original farmhouse at Ivy Cottage Farm - sadly no longer a working farm, Ivy Cottage Farm is an original 17th Century Dales longhouse with open countryside to the rear and views of the hills. There are some great, local walks on your doorstep and the village itself has a local pub; village shop/off-license, and regular bus service into town.

Boendet
The Granary is a stylish, one bedroomed annexe with its own private hot tub on the decked patio - the ideal place to unwind after a stimulating walk in the Dales. It is all on one level with just 3 steps from the communal entrance hall to its internal front door and has a very stylish and contemporary interior. The open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area has high ceilings with exposed wooden trusses and bi-folding doors that lead out onto the south-facing, and private, decked patio with hot tub. From here you can sit and take in the views of the garden, hills and countryside. In the one-bedroom, the beds can be arranged either as twin beds or together to form a comfortable, super-king bed. This cosy little pad is ideal for couples and provides a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Skipton. The town is very accessible from Carleton and is just a 5-minute drive away or an easy level walk, following the pavemented route along the road or by taking the public footpath across the fields. Carleton itself has a few amenities; with the friendly village pub - The Swan Inn; local village store/off-licence, serving groceries, newspapers etc and is open 7 days a week; a very well respected pharmacy. The village also has a regular bus service into town, Monday to Friday, for those who want to leave the car behind.

Guests with have full private use of The Granary. There is a communal hallway which is shared with ourselves. The parking area to the side of Ivy Cottage Farm and Poppy Cottages is shared with the guests who stay in the other cottages - Poppy Cottage No. 1 and Poppy Cottage No. 2. To the rear, there is an area for all guests to enjoy, a place to sit and admire the wonderful views and also a place to watch our chickens.

The forecourt and parking area is shared with other guests who are staying at the cottages. Our neighbours, to two other properties, have access across the forecourt.

Carleton is a lovely rural village with stunning views across the valley into Skipton known as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Hi, I am married to Steve and have two growing boys 21 & 19. We all live in our converted farmhouse, Ivy Cottage Farm in Carleton-in-Craven on the outskirts of Skipton. We ran a small guest house 'Poppy Cottage Guest House' from 2009-2016 and then converted what was the old barn to create two holiday cottages - Poppy Cottage No. 1 & Poppy Cottage No. 2. Both myself and Steve are Yorkshire born and bred; I am from Skipton and Steve is from Ilkley, and we are very proud of the beautiful area we live in. With more free time on our hands, we are hoping to do some travelling ourselves but we are really home birds and just love it here! We are both keen walkers, Steve loves to refurbish stuff and is a bit of renovator and restorer and I just love gardening and my family.
