Homely Guest House in the town of Amble, dubbed 'the friendliest port'. Central location - close to local amenities. Shops, bars. restaurants, cafes and lots of excellent walks and historical attractions.
Great place to stop on a cycling trip and perfect for a holiday or short weekend break alike.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Under new ownership for 2019 the communal areas have undergone recent refurbishment with guest rooms being upgraded this year too.

COVID Policy for Guests

We have compiled this document for the attention of all guests prior to their stay with us.
It is lengthy; however, we do request that you read it thoroughly.
Decisions to make alterations to the way we operate have not been taken lightly and have been put in place using Government Guidance for the Hospitality Industry.
The safety of you as our guests and of course our own wellbeing is something we take very seriously and will always be our main priority. We aim to create an environment where all guests feel comfortable enough with the COVID related measures we are taking to have an enjoyable stay.

It is important that you understand that anyone staying at Harbour Guest House must treat the environment and one another with consideration and respect regardless of their own personal views or feelings surrounding the current situation. Everything outlined must be adhered to and in addition each guest has their own responsibility to follow the general government guidance for COVID. If you are travelling from out with England then please make yourself aware of what is in place in this country.
Management reserve the right to terminate the stay of anyone who is posing risk to those around them.

If you become ill during your stay
If you experience Corona Virus symptoms during your stay please inform management and check out as soon as possible.
You and your full party will be required to return home as per government guidelines and will not be able to complete your stay.
Please be vigilant and sensible and do not risk your own health and that of those around you.

*Our Reception area and Breakfast room are currently closed.
We have done this to limit contact between guests, between staff and guests and to ensure that social distancing guidelines are in place.
We would not be able to adhere to the guidelines in these communal areas.
Information on how we will operate around these closures is given below*

Prior to your stay

Track and Trace
- The government requests that we take contact information on all guests who stay with us for the Track and Trace facility they have in place. Before your date of check in we will email a form to you which must be completed and returned to us. The date by which we need to receive it back will be highlighted on the email.
- Every person in the party must be accounted for on this form. Anyone who refuses to provide all the details legally requested by the government will not be able to commence their stay.
- Track and Trace information will be kept for a period of 14 days. GDPR guidelines will be followed and it will be destroyed after this time.

Payment Policy
We are adjusting our usual payment policy of guests paying their balance upon arrival. Full payment will be taken before your check in time. This process will differ depending on how your booking was initially made. Please see below:

Direct Bookings via phone or email –
- Those booking with us directly will discuss a timeframe and method of payment when booking. These will be mutually agreed by you and us and payment will be processed following this. If you have booked prior to these changes you will be contacted to discuss this.

- Guests who have booked via Airbnb do not need to worry about this as everything remains the same.

- If you do not pay the full amount upon booking with Booking.Com then we as your chosen accommodation get provided with card details to process deposits and payment as outlined by our payment policy.
- We will process payment for your full stay using the card information you submitted whilst booking the day before your arrival.
- Should there be any issues with this processing you will be contacted for an alternative payment.
- If you do not wish to use this card and would like to pay a different way then this is possible – you can do bank transfer, PayPal or an alternative card.

*It is important that we know this information in plenty of time so we can get this arranged otherwise the card will be automatically charged the day before you arrive*

- Cash payments are still possible in certain circumstances however must be pre-arranged.

Arrival and Check In

Check In Procedure
- During this uncertain time all guests will be required to have a ‘pre-booked’ check in slot. This will be mutually agreed before the day of arrival.
- We can then ensure arrivals are staggered so that guests are not coming in to unnecessary contact with one another.
- Our standard check in times are 4pm-6pm; flexibility on this will be considered if requested and possible.
- It will not be possible to guarantee a face to face check in with a member of staff after 6pm.
- Key Safes are available for anyone who is unable to arrive before 6pm.
- If you are met face to face you will be greeted and shown to your room. Keys for your stay will be left in your room so that distance can be kept between you and staff

*We are more than happy to arrange a Key Safe entry for any guest who would prefer not be met by a member of staff on arrival. We appreciate that people may want to limit their contact with others as much as possible*

Entering the building and use of Sanitising station.
- A sanitising station has been provided for guest use.
- We ask that everyone sanitises their hands when arriving for their stay.
- We also request that guests use the station every time they enter the building from outside during their stay.

*Please do not be offended if a member of staff or another guest requests you use it if it slips your mind. We all need to work together to stay safe and limit the spread of Coronavirus*

During your stay

Making your way around the building
- Your route around the building will be marked out using signs. Please follow these carefully and use the correct staircase for going up and down the stairs.
- Please limit the time you spend in the corridors and on the landing areas. We ask that you do not stand and talk in these spaces.

- Due to the temporary closure of our Breakfast Room breakfast service will be limited. No full cooked breakfast will be available until further notice.
- The menu will consist of a continental option, toast or a hot sandwich.
- Guests requiring breakfast will need to pre book the day before. It will be delivered to your door between 8:30am & 9am.

*Further information on breakfast can be provided upon booking or before arrival*

Complimentary Products
- Rooms have been streamlined for your safety and comfort and as a result complimentary products such as toiletries and hot drinks have been removed.
- We have also removed items such as hairdryers, bibles etc.
*All items that were previously standard in the rooms are still available for you and will be offered and provided as needed*

Room Servicing
- For the safety of both guests and staff no housekeeping will enter the room during your stay.
- If you are staying for multiple nights then information will be provided on how to request extra items you may need, rubbish disposal etc.

*We take the cleanliness of our rooms and the comfort of our guests very seriously so for longer stays arrangements can be made to ensure everything is kept as it should be and adhoc housekeeping visits can be discussed*

- Towels will be provided in protective bags rather than loose in your room for your peace of mind.

Contact with Staff
- Unfortunately at the current time we are having to limit our contact with guests. Information will be provided on how to contact us whilst you are staying.

*This has been the hardest change to make for us as we love providing a personal service and getting to know our guests during their stay. At the moment we are not able to take the risk for you and for us. We will still be available – just in other ways!*

Departure and Check Out

Before you go
For our safety and to reduce risk to future guests we ask that you do the following before you leave your room:
- Put used towels in to the bag provided for this purpose.
- Strip your bed of linen and place in bag provided.
- Open windows to air the room (if the weather allows) if not place window on its latch.
- Tie up bin bags that have been used for rubbish, dispose of or bag up any excess rubbish.

*This information will be provided to you in your room and extra bin bags etc can be supplied if needed*

Check Out
- Check out time remains at 10am.
- Please vacate your room by this time as housekeeping will need to commence their cleaning and create activity in the corridors.

*To check out simply leave your full set of keys in the room and let yourself out of the front door.
If for any reason you get held up then we must be notified. Information will be provided on how to do this*
