The village of Silecroft is on the West Coast branch line on which you can travel up the Cumbrian coast to Carlisle, from where you may wish to spend time on the Settle-Carlisle railway, which boasts some stunning views. The village also has an excellent pub serving food on most days and horses from the local riding stable clip-clop past this Lake District cottage before venturing onto the beach. The beach provides an ideal place for a bracing stroll and you may wish to walk to the summit of Black Combe Hill to appreciate the wonderful country and sea views. This Silecroft cottage is a lovely base for a holiday at any time of the year, with excellent varied attractions, as well as the whole of the Lake District National Park, all within reach.
