“Two restaurants in one and a 2nd-run & indie moviehouse (that also hosts concerts) serving microbrews, wine & casual eats. Some of the most delicious and creative pizza in town. And the best part is they will serve you in the theater if you like. Check out their Movie schedule here: http://beartooththeatre.net/ ”

“We have never had a bad pie here! The wait is usually at least 30 min, so plan on waiting for a table.... but we think it's well worth the wait! They serve up local beers from their brewery, Broken Tooth Brewery.”

“One of the best attractions in town. They are always changing it up and help you really get a sense of what it means to live in the north - not just in AK but on this latitude around the world. It's a gem!”

“Lots of trails to explore, many with sweeping views of the Cook Inlet. A nice place to get perspective. Wildlife including moose and bears share the park with you. Encounters are rare but bring your bear spray anyway.”

Cajun / Creole-restaurant
“When out of towners ask, “where a good place to eat?” this is a restaurant that we hear almost every time in the list of places to go. Take a beautiful drive along Turnagain Arm to get to the small ski town of Girdwood, Alaska. Double Musky does not take reservations so we advise calling them ahead and asking which times typically have little or no wait times. It can be a little spendy but worth it in our opinion. My wife and I share the peppercorn steak! Phone: (907) 783-2822 ”

“Don't underestimate the difficulty of this popular local climb. Sometimes I choose to forfeit going to the top for just scrambling around lower on the mountain. There are several alternative routes to explore. Don't forget to bring bear spray!”

“A great selection of food options, beers and cocktails. We've never waited too long to get in, however this isn't a quick stop restraurant, be sure to allow time to sit down and enjoy.”

“New Sagaya is one of our local grocery stores, small but has the essentials. They also house Kaladi Brother Coffee, a local company with delicious coffee. This is our go-to when we don't brew at home.”
