“The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a great place to get an up close look at of all of those huge fuzzy creatures Alaska is known for. Un like the zoo they have herds of bison, muskox, caribou. The photo opportunities here are fantastic. The hour it will take you to drive here is totally worth it.”

“Awesome place to explore the wilderness within the city. Great trail access for bikers, hikers, and frisbee golfers. One of the few places you can walk along the beach in Anchorage.”

“The great hike that everyone must do - drive your rental car or hop on the bike shop van up to Glen Alps parking lot and hike up to the most spectacular view. Good shoes essential. Not for the faint hearted, some real scrambling necessary at the top, don't go further than you're 100% comfortable with, coz you need to get down again too. A real feat for the flatlanders, a regular family hike for the Alaskans.”

Cultural Center
“Learn about and experience Alaska Native culture - take the shuttle bus from teh Visitor Center on 4th and F. Well worth it, but more than enough museum info for one day, don't try to combine with f.ex Anchorage Museum ... at least we don't recommend it -”
