Historisk plats
“This large amphitheater was built in AD 161 by wealthy Roman Herodes Atticus in memory of his wife Regilla. It was excavated in 1857–58 and completely restored in the 1950s. The Athens & Epidaurus Festival holds drama, music and dance performances here in summer, and occasionally there are blockbuster pop concerts. When you’re visiting the Acropolis site, the path leads west from the top of the Stoa of Eumenes, and you can peer down into the odeon from above. From this vantage, it looks positively intimate, though it seats 5000 people.”

“You must visit this amazing historical gem. You can see the Parthenon, sitting atop the Acropolis (“sacred rock”) from all over the city, tempting you to climb up and explore the ruins. No matter how many times you catch a glimpse, it’ll take your breath away. And while it is impressive from a distance, it’s even more amazing up close. Originally built as a fortress, this impressive structure is now the symbol of Athens. Give yourself at least half a day to hike up, explore this masterful creation and its surroundings, enjoy the views from the top, hike back down and grab a bite to eat and explore the Plaka District.”

“Near Monastiraki is the charming district of Psiri. In the past somewhat degraded, today it has endless choices of taverns, bars and entertainment spots. Just wander its narrow alleys and you will discover one of the liveliest districts of night Athens.”

“Kolonaki, the aristocratic district of the centre, was, is and will be the first choice for any bon viveur, but also a really lively source of culture and quality entertainment. Traditionally it was considered the area of the elite, however today that is not true since Kolonaki, without losing its aristocratic aura, is an area open to all and ideal for all tastes. Historically, it took its name from the small pillars that the Turks have placed in the area to conform the Christians. The area has cafes, bars and clubs, chic boutiques and famous fashion houses, galleries and museums, all guaranteeing that will have a great time. The area is the favorite of politicians and artists and is close to Lycabettus and Syntagma square.”

“Step into Anafiotika & it is like you are teleported on a Greek Island at the Aegean Sea! You will get this amazing feeling of Cosiness as you walk through the narrow windy alleys. The little white houses with the occasional small green gardens, are so cute! Anafiotika is great for Photography! Whether you want to capture some unique Greek style architecture & way of living, or that perfect Instagram photo! Cat lovers will get super excited there, as it seems to be a big number of cats living around there. The Anafiotika houses have been built by people from the Anafi island. The hilly area, right below the Acropolis, used to be considered an unfavourable place to live. The islanders from Anafi that had migrated to the city of Athens, built their small houses there, in the architectural style & craftsmanship they knew. So Anafiotika is sort of a "Favela" albeit in Aegean Island style!”

“Another of the quintessentially Athenian all day bars that faces Monastiraki with expansive views of Plaka and the Acropolis. Its rooftop terrace sits above their accommodation facilities. Friday and Saturday nights are no doubt the busiest nights, attracting a younger mixed crowd of locals and tourists. Cocktails come from award winning bar tender Theodore Pyrillos. Ideal day time stop for refreshments and to capture some great city shots.”
