“There are three and a half miles of trails in Whatcom Falls Park. Many routes wind through the forests here, some overlooking the creek gorge and still pools. Some wind through open meadows, while others stay in deep forest. A WPA-built stone bridge greets visitors, just 100 yards from the parking area. It's a beautiful, mossy wonder that makes a great destination in and of itself, though further wandering in the park is a fantastic day outing. Connect to Bloedel Donovan Park, the Railroad Trail, or do a one-mile loop in the park by beginning in the Silver Beach Road parking area, near the stone bridge at the main falls.”

“Boulevard Park is about a 15 min. walk from the FireHouse, you can access it from a trail head across from the Village Green. Walk along the path that leads you to the Taylor Dock boardwalk over the water, the boardwalk ends at the park. Once there you can enjoy a small beach area, a large grassy park area, a great children's play area, and even get a great beverage and snack at the Woods Coffee house located in the park. In the Summer the park has a Concert Series that runs for about 4 weekends on Saturdays from 6:00pm-8:00pm. You can check the web site for days and music playing. https://www.cob.org/services/recreation/activities/pages/concerts-in-the-park.aspx ”

“Small and cute park on the water. This park is more low key and can be a great place to launch a kayak or canoe.”

“The gem of the Interurban Trail is Arroyo Park. Trails follow a beautiful creek under a dense forest canopy. In the fall, salmon can be seen spawning in the creek. Great for walks or just sitting along the creek. Cross the bridge and hike one of the many trails leading into the Chuckanut Mountains. There are two parking areas along Old Sammish Road near Chuckanut Drive. ”

“Great views of downtown Bellingham from a historic tower. You can hike there from Western's college campus or drive to the top for the sweeping views. There is also a cool old tunnel the model T's used to drive through.”

“A classic PNW park. Towering cedar groves, large sunny green fields, frisbee golf course, cascading creeks, overgrown trails. Worth checking out and so close!”

“A combined effort by the City and Western WA University, you can walk there from our house. Rick does this walk almost daily... a 45 minute round trip to the Observation Tower atop the park, offering great views of the marina, downtown, the Canadian Coastal Range and towards Mt. Baker and the Twin Sisters to the east.”

“Teddy Bear Cove is a norotious spot out on the beautiful Chuckanut drive. It’s a rather popular hiking trail and beach, but there’s always plenty of space for everyone to explore and enjoy the views.”
