“If you like monkeys, then Monkey World is well worth a visit for people of all ages, but is definitely a great family day out. It is quite extensive with good play areas and you can take a picnic or buy food there. We have been there many times as a family and thoroughly recommend it to you. It is a good value day out.”

“Forestry Commission site, just pay the car parking. Nice little visitor centre. Good cafe. Great tracks for walking and good access for mobility scooter vehicles. 20 mins from the house. The walking from the house is nicer than the walking at Moors Valley but the play grounds in the woods there are unbeatable. So defo take small kids. They’ll love it. ”

History Museum
“Bovington Tank Museum is a great day out and thoroughly recommended, we have been there several times as a family and never get tired of it, they just keep adding to the exhibits. Apart from the live tank displays it is all undercover, so it’s the perfect place to go on a rainy day. It is a good value day out and you can take a picnic or buy food there.”

“Wonderful location for lunch /supper and exploring the wonderful Studland Beach or visiting Corfe Castle. A sensational view of the beach from The Pig but do be early birds for walks along the beach to avoid the flocks of people on warm days! Great on chilly days too!”

Hamn / marina
“The iconic Cobb wall is an historic stone pier that stretches out to sea to protect the harbour at Lyme Regis. It famously features in Jane Austen's 'Persuasion' and was a memorable feature of John Fowles' novel 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' and the film adaptation (1981) featuring Meryl Streep and Jeremy Irons. ”
