“Walnut Canyon National Monument preserves some of the Southwest's earliest history. Located 10 miles Southeast of Flagstaff, these incredible ruins are shockingly intact and preserved by the park service for anyone to enjoy. The canyon surrounding them in 600 ft. deep and was created by Walnut Creek.”

“Excellent views, steep climb to the towers. Really cool Alligator Juniper, boulders, cacti, evergreens...nice varied terrain, but a real heartache climb. Use caution if you have a heart condition. It's a very popular trail so if you want more solitude go EARLY.”

“A bunch of trails that interconnect. Mars Hill Trail is my favorite close hike. Some strenuous, short uphill sections. Lots of woods and quiet close to downtown. Also - frisbee golf and tennis courts.”
