“The original Joe's Kansas City BBQ, born out of a gas station in Kansas City and world-famous for ribs, Z-man, & brisket. If you've ever seen KC BBQ featured on TV, they were probably at Joe's. Walking distance.”

History Museum
“America's leading institution dedicated to remembering, interpreting and understanding the Great War and its impact. Essential for anyone even a tiny bit interested in American history. ”

“There always seems to be a huge mob of people waiting to get into this blue ribbon BBQ restaurant, so make reservations (for lunch or dinner). Great brisket, but a bad habit of running out of burnt ends. 15 minute walk from our place. ”

“From food to bars to night clubs to live music, the Power and Light district is the party place in KC.”

Shopping Plaza
“When you go to the Plaza, you've got such an amazing variety of places you can visit. Feel like shopping? They've probably got a specialty shop with exactly what you are looking for. Hungry? There are multiple restaurants. They range from affordable to VERY pricey. It's nice to have both options depending on your special occasion. And of course- there are lots of hip bars/clubs where you can relax and have an adult beverage. If you check the weekly specials, many places have live music! The Plaza is the perfect place to meet friends to hang out and have a fun night out!”

Antique Shop
“One of our favorite weekend locations is turning into a hot spot all week long. There has been a lot of development in the River Market area in the past few years building loft apartments and adding new restaurants. This is the largest weekend farmers market for fresh produce, flowers and meat. But all week long you can enjoy the specialty food markets and great places to eat. We buy spices and loose tea here and like to stop for coffee and lunch at The Opera House, dine at Bo Lings or Minsky's Pizza, and dessert at Betty Rae's Ice Cream. And if you don't want to stress about driving downtown and finding parking, just park at Union Station and the KC Streetcar will take you there.”

Performing Arts-lokal
“Located near the Power & Light District, the Sprint Center and the Crossroads Arts District. The Kauffman is home to the Kansas City Symphony & Orchestra (make time to catch a performance if you can) and hosts renowned touring acts. The building is one of the architectural icons of the city, and worth exploring just for that if you can. ”

“Take a tour of KC's biggest and best known brewery! And, of course, pop into the tasting room :) ”

“Sammy Price anyone? Kansas City is one of the select few cities known as "the cradle of jazz". You certainly can't come to KC and not go to one of our famed jazz clubs. The Green Lady has a show every night. ”

Baseball Stadium
“Home of the Kansas City Royals, this stadium is the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon. They even have a huge section devoted to entertaining little ones with a free park! General admission tickets can be inexpensive, but plan to pay $$ for parking.”

“You can make an entire day out of this gigantic zoo! In fact, it's so large that I'd recommend you do the add on package where you get the Train, Tram, Sky Safari, Boat, and Carousel for only $10 extra per person. It's about the only way you will have the energy to traverse the whole zoo and see all of the many exhibits.”

“The rose garden is just part of Loose Park. This huge park has playgrounds, walking trails, tennis courts, and a refreshing splash park in the summer. I often see people walking their dogs and throwing frisbees. It's a great place for a picnic!”

“Countless small local galleries. Every first Friday they open up to unveil new exhibits.”

“Now listen, BBQ is a very serious subject here in KC. So let me start by saying that this is just the opinion of one humble person and his taste buds. That said...... JACK STACK IS THE BEST BBQ JOINT IN KC BAR NONE! There, i said it... and i meant it. I mean, this place has it all. Dimly lit atmosphere greets your eyes while the smell of pit roasted and grill fired KC BBQ greets your nose. Look, I grade on a BBQ scale that takes into account the sides as well. Potato salad, coleslaw bbq baked beans with pieces of burnt ends cooked in?!! This is madness. I could explain more but now I've gotten all worked up. I'm ordering takeout. ”
