“Loads of boutique shops, market stalls, bars cafes and restaurants, a short walk from Charing Cross station. Often many street entertainers. Jo particularly likes the jewellery at Les Nereides. If we want to indulge ourselves with coffee and a macaron, head over to Laduree. Ask for a table outside, and you can watch the street entertainers in the square.”

“ A microcosm of London's shifting ethnic patterns, the area around Brick Lane in East London was once associated with poor slums and the scene of the crime for the Jack the Ripper murders. Whilst the notorious pub Ten Bells still stands, the area itself is now extremely popular with London’s edgy and artistic crowd, featuring galleries, restaurants, markets and festivals throughout the year. The Old Truman Brewery at 91 Brick Lane houses a vibrant market where up-and-coming designers set up shop every Sunday selling a unique variety of clothes, handbags and jewellery. There are also vintage clothing stores and chic boutiques dotted around the area. As a hub of London's Bangladeshi community, Brick Lane has always been famed for its many authentic curry restaurants. It now also has a reputation for its warehouse art exhibitions and trendy clubs and bars. So, before your East London experience is complete, be sure to head to the Vibe Bars beer garden or 93 Feet East (150 Brick Lane) which has become an East End institution well known for its eclectic mix of live music and intimate atmosphere.”

“What can I say about shopping - this is London. OK - one recommendation. If you want to do all your shopping under one roof, there's a fabulous mall in Shepherd's Bush called Westfield. It has everything you could possibly want, and many for a drink places too. Shepherd's bush station is on the Central Line, only 5 stops fro Ealing Broadway.”

“A 15 minutes bus-ride away, one of the coolest areas of London. From cultural icons like the Tate Modern, National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall and the BFI through street performers, food markets, the used book market under the bridge in front of the BFI and all the way to tourist points like the London Eye, Aquarium, and Westminster houses of parliament. Keep walking and you're in the West End or Covent Garden... (Ok, if you want to get to those to begin with, the tube will take you there more quickly).”

“Love walking around the market, lots of sights and sounds and good food to buy and come back to Angell Homes to cook. Alternatively try eateries in the Market, there is so much. ”
