Best things to do in Minneapolis

Konstmuseum
“Multidisciplinary contemporary art center that is a staple in Minneapolis. (Famous for the cherry and spoon) Enjoy the sculptures, painting, and other various art galleries. Exhibits change often, so there's always something new to take in. Free Thursdays and the first Saturday of every month, but it's easily with the price of admission.”

Museum
“Minnesota has always had a large population of Scandinavians, so it’s only right to learn about the culture and eat the food, both of which you can do at the 1908 Turnblad mansion: an enormous, French Chateau-esque structure once home to Swedish immigrants. Inside its walls resides The American Swedish Institute, a museum and cultural center dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Sweden and the Swedish-American population. With a large display of art, an extensive library collection and seasonal exhibits, this Minnesota and National Register of Historic Places landmark is full of artifacts and information highlighting contemporary and historical Swedish culture. New exhibits like Amp Up! The Hagstrom Guitar Sensation and Swedes Rock! delve into Sweden’s musical history while past exhibits have had scientific and holiday themes. Stop by the museum store for unique trinkets or dine in FIKA, the onsite cafe, offering award-winning Nordic-inspired cuisine.”

Kafé
“Best coffee in town. Great food too. It's on the main level of one of the artists buildings in the area so there is lots of cool art displayed and in the corner there is often an artist working on something and you can watch.”

Park
“"Nestled along the shores of Silver Lake, and with a focus on arts and the environment, Silverwood Park is unique in the metro area. Stop in the coffee shop, bring an instrument and share your musical talents, or simply set up your easel in the park to paint. Artists are welcome here. Trails offering spectacular views of Silver Lake, restored prairie, and mature oak forests circle the park and provide inspiration to all. The visitor center bustles with activity on a daily basis. Other park amenities include an art gallery, education facilities, event rental space, a café/coffee shop, picnic sites, fishing opportunities, canoe and kayak rentals, an outdoor performance space and more."”

Museum
“Changes are coming for the Bell Museum, which plans to move into a new building at the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus as soon as funding is secured. In the meantime, there's a lot to like about the current space, which has a very old-school feel. Filled with creepy yet awesome taxidermy, exhibits about the environment, and neato dioramas created by Minnesota artist Francis Lee Jaques, the museum provides a much more intimate experience in some ways than going to the Science Museum. And if you're interested in stars, the Exploradome (the product of a merger with the Bell and the Planetarium Society), offers shows every day.”
