“A really fun thing to do and a great way to Uptown. Buy a day pass for $3 and you can use it for the streetcar and buses (buy on the bus or streetcar). Its good to hop on and off all day long. Streetcars run every 10-15 minutes. Explore Magazine street when you head uptown great bars, shops, and restaurants. ”

“Getting there is all the fun! Bring cash for the fare, or download the RTA GoMobile app. The ferry leaves Algiers Point every 30 minutes on the hour and half hour, then leaves Canal Street every 30 minutes at a quarter until and a quarter after the hour. Bike Rental / Bike Share
“Riding through the Marigny/Bywater areas is worth the rental. I suggest heading to the Country Club or The Joint - both in the Bywater. You can also bike along the Mississippi River at Crescent Park. ”

“Bike from the French Quarter into the Bywater. Plug Crescent City Park in your phone and be surprised at the colorful houses and various art installations throughout the city. Then you can take your bike up the elevator entrance to the park (make sure you find the right entrance otherwise you'll be hiking your bike up 50 stairs) and bike along the Mississipi River, maybe hear a random band there, people watch or have a picnic with wine like the locals. Or bike straight up Esplanade all the way to City Park. When you are almost to the park you will see a gorgeous cemetery on your right. Take a peak, then bike all around city park and observe the 800 yr old oaks, grab a snack, & relax!”

“The views from the ferry of the New Orleans skyline are the best! Take the ferry from the end of Canal Street next to the Aquarium over to Algier's Point, wander around the quaint streets of Algier's Point and visit Congregation Coffee, One Stone, or Tout Suite. There is a little park for kids called Confetti Park that is very cute. The views from the ferry of the New Orleans skyline are the best! Inexpensive but take cash for your tickets. ”

Bus Station
“You can take the ferry from Canal St across the river, then right back in 15 mins. Great alternate view of the city from the river. You can check out historic Algiers Point and even grab a brew at Old Point Bar. ”

Zoo
“Looking for a family outing? The Audubon Zoo is great for adults and kids of all ages. During the summer months, the Cool Zoo is great to cool off with a lazy river, a water playground and a wading pool for toddlers. Concessions and bathrooms are in the area and there is plenty of seating in the shade. ”

Bicycle Store

“He sells bikes and used bikes. I would recommend BLUE BICYCLES b.c they have rental spots all over the city (closest one is a 7-10 minute walk). But you can buy a bike for $100 used and see if you can return it for $20-40 less? Consider it a user fee with a bike at your disposal. ”
