“The Guggenheim is great because it isn't huge and the spiral building itself is such a great site to see. Check to see what exhibits are on - they have a very well curated collection of permanent works as well.”

“The Met Cloisters is a hidden gem. If you are in NYC for more than 5 days in the spring, summer or fall, I highly recommend going up to the cloisters. It's an old fort turned into a museum of European medieval architecture, they actually have brought over cloisters and other structures from abandon churches and reconstructed it into the building. Apart from that, they also have a wonderful garden to walk through where you can have a picnic. ”

“Explore the historic (and enormous) aircraft carrier, nearly 30 vintage planes on the flight deck, a guided missile submarine, and the space shuttle Enterprise. The Exploreum on the hangar level is full of interactive fun for kids like climbing into a helicopter and steering the wings of a plane. Save time and lines by buying tickets online in advance and be forewarned: many enticing exhibits, guided tours, and the space shuttle pavilion require extra fees. However, there is plenty to do without the extras. The Intrepid is best suited to older children who can appreciate the history. There is lots of walking, much of it outdoors, so sunscreen and hats are advisable. The best way to get here is the #50 crosstown bus headed west, which brings you right to the door. ”

“The Tenement Museum celebrates the enduring stories that define and strengthen what it means to be American. We share stories of the immigrant and migrant experience through immersive guided tours, educational content and programs, and thought leadership, with one important goal — to advance the understanding of immigration and to highlight its role in the ongoing creation of our nation.”
