“Randyland is home of artist, Randy Gilson, Located in the Mexican War Streets district of Pittsburgh's Northside, the Randyland Courtyard is open most everyday from 10am and 7pm. Visitors are welcome to come and explore the public art displays in and around the property. Using paints, plants, plastic animals, yard sale finds and discarded construction materials, creator Randy Gilson has transformed his home and surrounding buildings into a colorful Pittsburgh Landmark. This vibrant set of buildings is a centerpiece that continues to attract both tourists and locals”

“Default, most frequented bar for whatever mood or outfit your wearing. You ABSOLUTELY MUST take a #brilloselfie in the mirror of the bright pink unisex bathroom near the kitchen entrance. People pile in 10 at a time, don't think twice about it. It's tradition. ”

Point of Interest
“So this place isn't necessarily a museum, but rather a large educational vessel for Pitt University that is a pretty great spot for checking out some fascinating architecture and history. Each room on the first floor (I believe it's the first floor), has a different theme with very authentic design. This is one of those places you could spend 20 minutes or 4 hours. If you're in the area it's definitely worth checking it out! * This is the super tall building in Oakland that you can see from almost everywhere in Pittsburgh.”

“You're only a five minute walk away from one of the most beautiful parks in Pittsburgh! Just take a right out the door and another right on Beechwood. Ample room for hiking, running, lounging and picnicking. ”

“Ridiculously good. Really. Outstanding Thai. There is another location just across the 7th Street Bridge in downtown Pittsburgh. They just expanded their location when their neighbor moved out and the place it still packed. It's good. ”

“8-minute drive. Lawrenceville. 19th century church converted into a microbrewery and restaurant, perhaps the first such venture in this area. Beer brewed on the former altar. Big place, varied menu, a fun place for a special occasion. Nice courtyard.”

“Down Butler Street from the other Lawrenceville places I mentioned, this great little movie theater plays whatever the heck it wants, with a different them each weekend. They are connected to Bierport, so you can bring delicious beers into the theater.”

“A handful of some higher-end stores including Sephora, Apple, Banana Republic, etc. This is a great activity for any day you're trying to do a little shopping and/or poke around some cute cafe's and shops, have lunch. Steel Cactus has great food, and the nightlife on Walnut street definitely exists for mostly the young professional crowd and beyond”

“When approaching Highland Park from North Highland Avenue you're greeted by the entry garden and fountain, which reminds me of something you'd likely see in Europe. The Victorian-style entrance with well-maintained gardens draws you in and from there you forget that you're only a few miles from downtown. Walk a bit further and you'll begin to see all that the park has to offer. You'll find that the park boasts a couple playgrounds, some swimming pools, athletic courts, trails - both flat and hilly, paths along the reservoir and more. So, get out and explore!”

Italiensk restaurang
“8-10 minute drive. Lawrenceville. Authentic Italian pasta, pizza, antipasti, salads, desserts. For Will always a tough choice between a calzone and lasagne, both reminiscent of his Italy days. Leave room for the tiramisu and other outstanding desserts. Can be crowded. Lively (loud for some) atmosphere. BYOB.”

“Yum. Burgers, shakes and fries. What could be better? Made to order, from friendly staff, with an upscale sports bar feel (come here to watch the game--any game).”

“25-30 minutes to the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Be prepared to stand and wait outside - but conversing with friendly Pittsburgh peeps is part of the experience! Fabulous breakfast...my favorite is any one of the Hash (Pittsburgh Hash for me) but they have others that are fabulous. You simply must have an order of pancakes (crepe style)...YUM!”
