“Dolores Park has something for everyone... well at least everyone who isn't scared off by San Francisco's unique brand of weird. Great kids playground, gorgeous views of the city, and usually a guy selling weed-truffles. Grab some lunch at Bi-Rite and have a picnic. Be prepared for it to be crowded on a sunny day.”

“San Francisco’s Japanese Tea Garden is the oldest public Japanese garden in the country. The garden was created for an exhibition in 1894, when the exhibition closed a gentleman’s agreement was reached and the garden remained. As time went by the garden expanded to the size it is today, approximately 5 acres. Today the gardens are hugely popular with tourists who come to see the pagodas, stepping stones, arched bridges and native Japanese plants. There is also a koi pond and Zen garden. If you are hungry or thirsty on your visit you can stop for some traditional Japanese refreshments.”

“Just a few blocks South of here, a great little under-visited park with beautiful bonus views of the Golden Gate bridge at the top (of a fairly steep hill). Tennis courts are hiding up there, as are some fun trails for running / walking. One of my favorite green spots in the city. ”
