“The Embarcadero runs along the waterfront of SF, from the Bay Bridge, past the Ferry Building, and down to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. A very popular place for strolling and enjoying the many attractions: Ferry Building, Farmer's Market, The Exploratorium, Wax Museum, Boudin Bakery Cafe, Rocket boat ride, Interesting Fact: Pier 39 marks the end of the Embarcadero and the beginning of Fisherman's Wharf. Blue & Gold Line (runs ferries to Sausalito, Oakland, Alameda, Vallejo & Larkspur), and the ferry for Alcatraz leaves from Pier 33. If you want to save your feet a bit, there are pedicabs available near the Ferry Building.”

“The whole experience is wonderful & worth the cost. Very informative on some really intriguing history of the island, the military, native americans & the prison, gorgeous views of the city, a nice boat ride, pleasent walk , good photo opportunities. Several options on tours are available that focus on different aspects . Can also get a really good deal with a CityPass, but look for info on that in the CityPass entry.”

“Pier 39 is extremely touristy but kind of fun if you have never been. There are all sorts of shops and food spots that are selling San Francisco souvenirs, sourdough bread, ice cream etc. There is an arcade, street performers and the Aquarium By the Bay is small but pretty cool, especially for younger kids.”

“Rent some old fashioned roller skates and then skate over to Golden Gate Park. On Sundays and sometimes Saturdays there's a regular crew of skaters not too far from this rental shop. They play music while skating and the scene is also fun to watch.”

“In our opinion, the Sunset is the best part of SF to explore by bike because it’s relatively flat! Our favorite place to rent bikes is Swell, a sweet little bike shop on Irving street. It’s $25 per day to rent. ”
