Set in the Teign Valley, this is an amazing spot for a number of outdoor activities. There are walks from the doorstep, bike trails, fishing, canoeing, rock climbing, horse riding and golf. Haldon Hill, 20 minutes away, is a great woodland park for off road cycling, and cycle and Segway hire is also available. There are many golf courses in the National Park, including the glorious Bovey Castle, Teign Valley and Stover. Horse riding on the moor can be easily arranged to suit all capabilities, this is fantastic area to ride in. Dartmoor is 95,400 hectares of open access land, great for climbing, letter boxing or just to stroll across the wonderful moorland to see the ponies. Dawlish Warren, a 25-minute drive, has sand dunes, swimming, moorings and the usual seaside treats, whilst Exmouth, 40 minutes away, has a long sandy beach with many amenities and is popular with kitesurfers and for rock pooling too. There are several National Trust properties within a short distance from Weeke Barton. Beach 9 miles. Shop 1.5 mile, pub within 1.5mile.

Dartmoor National Park offers everything you would want for an active outdoors experience. With 95400 sq hectares of open access land there is some of the most beautiful scenery England has to offer. Walking, climbing, horse riding and wild swimming. Only a 45 min drive to some of the South Hams most beautiful beaches, or an hour to the beaches of North Devon and Cornwall, for surfing. With a couple of great villages near the house (Chagford, Moretonhampstead), offering some great places to eat and drink, (The Horse in Mortonhampstead (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), The Nobody Inn in Doddiscombeleigh (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), The Artichoke in Christow (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) you will find plenty of things to suit all ages. Or simply relax in the gardens with a book or curl up in front of the fire with a glass of wine.
