Victor, Colorado, USA

The Black Monarch was re-built after a fire in 1899 as a brothel, casino, and saloon. It is a storied slice of Victorian era Americana , nestled in the beautiful Rocky Mountain gold rush city of Victor, Colorado. The building is exquisite in its design and well preserved with original windows, doors, tin ceilings, and stairs. Local legend states that the building is haunted by the ghost of a miner who died in a gunfight, and was originally wired by electrical genius Nikola Tesla.
You will be immediately overwhelmed with the incredible beauty and rich history of this enormous Victorian Gothic brothel! Featuring 12 and 15 foot ceilings throughout, ornate solid oak doors, huge bay windows, and original hard wood floors... this spooky Rocky Mountain getaway is a must for the alternative traveler! The building is currently under the process of being lovingly restored by its new owners. Every room has been uniquely themed and decorated with luxurious furniture, creepy art, authentic taxidermy, and very real oddities. Every piece has been individually curated and picked by the owners. #2 The Elizabeth Báthory Room: This cozy bedroom measures 250 sqft. It contains a very plush king size pillow top beds with mattress toppers, a 52” 4K smart tv, blue tooth sound system, makeup vanity, chandelier, and mini fridge. The room over looks downtown victor Colorado including the Lowell Thomas museum, and has amazing views of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range. All art and decorations are themed after 16th century Hungarian Queen Elizabeth Báthory, who is known for killing and bathing in the blood of over 600 of her young female servants. She believed she could absorb their youth in this way. Local lore says Nikola Tesla wired this building while building the hydroelectric dam at Skagway reservoir in 1899.
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, the Black Monarch is your ideal lodging. Nestled amidst the breathtaking mountain vistas of Victor, Colorado, it’s mere minutes from historic hiking trails like the Vindicator Valley Trail, where outdoor enthusiasts can explore old mine shafts. Come visit the cute historic gold mining town of Victor 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs. Experience the charm of sweet, little quiet mountain life for a nice getaway from the hectic city. This town has lots of history, a German bakery, a couple good restaurants and is a mere 5 miles from Cripple Creek. There's beautiful hiking, wildlife and climbing near by. We do have a kitten named Harmony who lives with us. However, she will not be here over the Christmas break so the house is all yours!
This sweet historic house has been newly and beautifully updated. There are two bedrooms and a futon in the main living room. There's a dining room and kitchen and bathroom and a laundry room in the crawl space/basement area. French press is available for coffee and there is tea and hot water kettle for the tea lovers as well. Kitchen has cooking materials (pans, rice cooker, spatula etc.) available for use including oil and basic spices. This house is on a dead end street with spectacular views of the whole town and the surrounding mountainous valley.
Victor is a sweet town with lots of kind, good-natured people. The community is tight and people look out for each other. This is a small town though and not a lot of activity going on all the time. Sometimes there are fun weekend festivals but Victor is really a place to come to get away from the city environment. I enjoy having coffee at the German bakery and eating some of their yummy sandwiches and baked goods. The Fortune Club Diner has delicious home baked breakfasts and the Side Door restaurant at the hotel also has great food. There's a convenience store and liquor store in town as well. Wildlife surrounds you and there are many local hikes, biking, fishing and climbing spots nearby. Cripple Creek is a ten minute drive and has a plethora of activities including gambling, festivals etc.

Located above Victor's main street with views of historic buildings, mining headframes, and mountains, this apartment still has the charm of a 120 year old structure. 11' ceilings, large windows and an original skylight provide lots of sunlight. Fully remodeled and very comfortable.
There are 2 private rooms, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. Rooms are fully furnished and can be locked. Bathroom has a large walk in shower.
Victor is a time capsule. Nearly all of the structures in town were built in the 1890s and retain original features. There are mining headframes and historic relics everywhere. Even though it is only home to about 500 people, there are good places to eat, shops, great trail systems, and incredible views. Cripple Creek is a beautiful 5 mile drive and has casinos, restaurants, shops, and museums. It's just a really fun place to explore.

Our high-altitude Really Blessed Cabin and Venue (sitting at 10,200 feet) is a log cabin and venue offering spectacular panoramic views of Pikes Peak and it's southern ridges in Colorado's high country above the picturesque Gillette Valley. From outdoor settings overlooking the majestic Pikes' Peak, to the log cabin that reflects the essence of the Rocky Mountains, Really Blessed Venue helps create a truly "take your breath away" wedding experience. This spectacular view is enjoyed from the interior front wall of vaulted windows, as well as, from the wrap around deck. The setting is dramatic. When comparing Colorado venue rental fees, Really Blessed Cabin & Wedding Venue is one of the most affordable, awe inspiring, view venues in the Front Range. Whether your budget is small (you are DIYing everything) or large (hiring the most well known planner, wearing a designer dress, or carrying boutique flowers), or anything in between, Really Blessed Cabin and Wedding Venue may be the ideal fit for your wedding day. Additionally, you may bring in your own vendors. We do provide a list of vendors we have worked with, who are professional and can assist in making your day run smoothly. This leaves you with peace of mind, so you and your guests can have the most enjoyable guest experience. CEREMONY & RECEPTION Every ceremony should reflect the personality and heart of the couple, whether religious, spiritual or secular, formal or laid back, traditional or contemporary. The rustic Aspen arbor is the ceremony backdrop with the "take your breath away" view framed through it. Your outdoor reception can be held on numerous places around the 9 acre property. A favorite spot is in the Aspen grove near the 10' x 12' Colorado style beamed pavilion. The log cabin can be used for wedding preparations, catering, overnight guests, smaller receptions, cocktail hour, or for your honeymoon. There are many different uses for it depending on how you want your wedding and reception to flow. LOG CABIN The interior log cabin, appointed with vaulted, tongue and groove beamed ceiling is an ideal place where your family and guests can come together to celebrate your special day. Accommodations are for up to 6 guests in the main cabin with a king bedroom and two other queen bedrooms. A new groom's bunkhouse, sleeping another 5 guests, will be available in early summer 2020. Other log cabin amenities are wood and slate floors, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, luxurious lighting, wine cooler, granite counters, and tasteful Colorado style decor, including wall mounted Elk antlers. Two full bathrooms round out the log cabin. Our wood stove will keep you toasty on those chilly Colorado nights. A large 60" HD satellite-fed television with Blu-Ray DVD player, surround-sound system and WIFI are available. An audio cable is available for your DJ or sound person to plug in their device to stream your wedding music through the outside speakers during your ceremony. Another Blu-Ray player is in the King bedroom for that TV (bring movies). We do have cards, books, and various board games to play during your stay. If there is not an outdoor fire and smoking ban, you may use the outdoor oversized fire pit for cooking and ambience. A 5 person hot tub sits on the deck where the mountains can be enjoyed or viewing the stars if you take a soak after dark. PRICING We offer two distinct sites for ceremony & reception. You don't want your wedding or vacation to look like any other average event or stay. By choosing Really Blessed Cabin & Wedding Venue, there will be no comparison with the service, backdrop (that amazing view) and amenities that Really Blessed Cabin offers you. The view is not often seen in the Pikes Peak region. The summit of Pikes Peak is only 7 miles away and the roadbed and the Incline Rail tracks are visible on our side of the mountain. We have a telescope in the living room for your viewing pleasure of the Rocky Mountains and ridges. We have views virtually all directions except the woods on the north side which faces a gold mine! The cabin is off the Highway about 1.4 miles... but one should expect a bit of bumpy drive for this level of privacy away from neighbors and this view. I would suggest bringing sufficient coffee, groceries and supplies along with clothing as we are a bit remote and once here, you may not want to leave except for further sightseeing. Buena Vista, Mt Princeton-Antero are about 1.5 hours to the west... well worth visiting as well as Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak Summit, Air Force Academy, and the various Federal and State Parks and Reserves.
