Some disabled facilities. The flat affords guests privacy, comfort and quiet, whilst benefitting from a weekly clean and linen change so you can work away from home in a well maintained environment without maintenance concerns. Some 'Green Credentials (see House Manual).
Spacious living / dining / kitchen area, with garden view. Flexible use bedroom with drop down king size wall bed. Spare single bed in living area (Bakare disability bed), which doubles as a sofa (electrically profiles into comfortable sitting position). 2 further armchairs for watching TV. Disabled facilities are not comprehensive but include: level access (with ramp and balustrade to front door), a single Bakare fully profiling bed with pull up sides and comfortable memory foam (pressure relief) mattress, and a walk in wet room with shower. The loo seat is raised and there are grab rails in the bathroom only. All doors are wheelchair accessible. The flat is most suitable for disabled users, who can still walk and weight bear, but may need the assistance of a wheelchair or zimmer over any distance. Disabled guests will need to be able (with the aid of their carer alone) to transfer from a wheelchair to the loo, bed or chair, to stand in the shower and to walk a few steps. Please enquire prior to booking if you have any disabled needs, to confirm the flat's suitability.
Belhaven Bay and the John Muir Trail are beautiful tourist attractions, both within 5 minutes walk of the flat. There are 2 golf courses nearby and a local surf school. Dunbar high street has all basic amenities and there is a large Asda supermarket on the outskirts. There is also a local sports centre as well as a 'Family Farm Park' nearby.

The local area boasts numerous beautiful beaches and many attractions. Dunbar itself is only one mile away where you can find a range shops, restaurants and pubs. Keen golfers will also find this an excellent location.
The flat is part of a beautiful old sandstone building just set back from the main road in a calm part of the town. There is so much to do in the area whatever your interest. Keen golfers can find a range of courses including championship locations. We are also very conveniently situated for the major golf tournaments which are often played at local courses.
The house is only 1 minute walk from beautiful Belhaven Bay. All amenities are in the local town less than 1 mile away. Try a drink at the Station Yard Micropub by Dunbar Station.

Wee Windy sits within the grounds of our family home. It is an ideal retreat for couples but sleeps up to 4 people. It is situated just 15 minutes walk from North Berwick train station, 20 minutes from the high street and beach, and is a 35 minute train journey from Edinburgh's city centre. It has an airy but cosy feel, with lots of natural light, and is decorated in a coastal theme. It also has a private entrance - but shared gate entrance - which allows guests to come and go at any time.
Wee Windy comprises an open plan living room and kitchen, one bedroom, and a shower room. The living room and kitchen area is bright, comfortable, and great for socialising. There is a sofa which converts to a bed on request (with an extra person charge of £10 per person per night). There is also a large wall mounted smart television with Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer services to name a few. The kitchen is well equipped if you choose to cook and has a breakfast bar, oven and built-in microwave, Induction hob, dishwasher, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests also have access to a washing machine and drying area in the adjoining laundry room. The bedroom is minimalist and cosy, with excellent wardrobe space, and has a super king size bed (which can be unzipped and converted into two singles if you give us advance notice). The shower room contains a walk-in digital shower and has underfloor heating, as well as a heated towel rail.
North Berwick is a stunning seaside town and was voted the best place to live in Scotland by the Sunday Times in 2017. The gorgeous coastline, thriving community, and incredible seafood are just a few reasons why! It is an excellent place to visit if you are active and outdoorsy, with two beautiful beaches, wildlife-rich waters, the Scottish Seabird Centre, and the statuesque North Berwick Law overlooking the town and islands. Sailors, animal lovers, bird watchers, and hikers will be in their element. If you are a keen golfer, you will already know that there is an abundance of golf courses in the surrounding areas. Our local courses, the North Berwick Golf Club and Glen Golf Club, are both a 5 minute drive away from Wee Windy, as are the public putting greens and tennis courts. The High Street is quaint and home to a mix of artisan, independent shops, cafes, coffee houses, and restaurants, where every taste and budget are catered for. There genuinely is something for everyone. Netherlaw is a quiet, leafy street in a residential area set back from the town centre. The North Berwick sports centre is a 5 minute walk along the road from Wee Windy and boasts a great range of exercise classes as well as a swimming pool, gym, squash courts, and a cafe. We are also close to North Berwick Law which you can climb to see stunning views out to the islands Fidra, Lamb, Craigleith, Bass Rock, and May.

The cottage is ideal accommodation for walkers and surfers, or those that just want to escape to the country. Twenty five minutes from Edinburgh, It features a private garden and is within walking distance to John Muir Country Park and Belhaven beach. Dunbar town and East Linton are both short distances away.
This semi detached stone cottage dates back to 1850, where it was once a farmers cottage. Snug and contemporary, the property offers a good size bedroom, an equipped kitchen that opens out onto the mature private garden. The living room has a large open original fireplace and an HD TV.
Set in the heart of West Barns village, there are many outdoor activities to enjoy near by. John Muir Country Park is a short walk away which includes stunning coastal and forestry walks. Not forgetting the animal park for the children! There is a surfing school nearby which offer surfing tuition on the beach also.   • The West Barns stuga är ett fantastiskt, mysigt och avkopplande utrymme till fantastiskt värde! Själva huset är mycket mysigt men ändå mycket rymligt med ett stort kök och eldstad som var utmärkt för att kyla ut efter en lång dag med promenader längs de fantastiska stränderna och promenaderna som du hittar precis utanför din dörr! Vi tog våra två hundar med oss och huset kunde inte ha varit mer perfekt för husdjur, de bosatte sig mycket snabbt med tanke på den stora privata trädgården där de hade gott om utrymme. Värden Heather var väldigt entusiastisk och hjälpte oss med att peka oss i rätt riktning för aktiviteter och butiker samt få oss att slå oss ner i rymden! Allt som allt älskade jag min tid i stugan i västra låven och hoppas att vara tillbaka snart.

  • Detta var vår första semester med vår nya hund. Vi väljer Heather's stuga på grund av dess närhet till stranden och den har en säker trädgård. Stugan har allt du kan behöva och trädgården var fantastisk! Kommunikationen med Heather var snabb och vi uppskattade verkligen den flexibla incheckningstiden. Den närliggande stranden var fantastisk och vi hade verkligen tur med vädret. Vi kom hem med en mycket trött och lycklig valp. Jag önskar att vi hade bokat längre än våra 2 nätter.

The apartment with a private entrance, sits on the side of a family home. Recently refurbished with a kitchen / living / bedroom and a comfortable cast-iron double bed. The shower-room / w.c. is fitted with a modern powerful shower. The shabby chic decor has a gentle seaside theme to reflect the feel of North Berwick.
    The apartment is situated on the ground floor of a 125 year-old stone building in a quiet street just three minutes walk from the railway station and six minutes from the town centre and beach. It sits on the side of a family home but has its own entrance. The location is ideal for all local amenities, including shops, bars, restaurants, golf courses and the world-famous Seabird Centre. A frequent train service provides easy access to the heart of Edinburgh with a relaxed journey through the East Lothian countryside taking approximately 30 minutes. The studio has recently been refurbished and contains a large kitchen / living / bedroom area with an IKEA king-size bed. The renovation is modern but adopts a gentle seaside, shabby-chic theme to reflect the general feel of North Berwick. A small hall and light shower room / w.c. complete the accommodation. The kitchen area is well equipped with a ceramic hob and electric oven, a microwave, toaster and dishwasher. TV, DVD and unlimited free WiFi are included. Ample hanging space is provided along with a washing machine in the hall cupboard. Old Abbey Road is a quiet street. Like the town of North Berwick, it is steeped in history with the apartment sitting opposite the ruins of North Berwick Priory which was established 800 years ago. Guests are also welcome to visit our chickens in the family garden and can look forward to fresh eggs for breakfast (so long as the 'girls' are in the mood). Finally, please note the studio is strictly non-smoking and we require at least one the guests to be 25 or over.
    The neighbourhood consists of a quiet residential area with a wide range of interesting houses, not to mention a 12th Century Abbey opposite the apartment. The lively and prosperous North Berwick High Street is a five minute walk away.

    A lovely wee bright & cosy room in an upstairs conversion of our bungalow, quietly tucked at the back of the main house. You'll have peace and quiet, but are welcome to come and use the dining room space. Our home is on a quiet street in the middle of North Berwick, a 3-5minute walk from the train station. There is parking on our driveway. We're just a 5 minute walk to the West Beach and High Street, so golf, shops, cafes, walks and restaurants are all easily accessible.
    You will have an upstairs bedroom in our family home, with access to a private shower room. I'm afraid the room hasn't got a view, but it's got plenty of natural light through a velux window which has a blind for nighttime. There's plenty space in the garage to store golf clubs, luggage, surf boards etc. We have a lovely garden with lawns and a patio which again you're welcome to use and enjoy. We have a dog, he's a bit of a bonkers springer spaniel but very very friendly . He stays downstairs at all times, and there's a stair gate to make sure he doesn't come nosying upstairs! In the mornings, we'll leave out a selection of self-service continental breakfast out for you. It can be busy for us in the mornings getting ready for nursery and school drop off, but Sam and I will be around and available to help with any questions you might have.
    Whatever your interests, there's something for everyone here in North Berwick. Walk a section of the John Muir Way, explore the beautiful beaches at Tyningham and Yellowcraigs, or wander down the high street with it's wonderful selection of independent shops and cafes.

    The house is 18 years old, I have lived in the property since new so has always been well looked after and maintained. I have been awarded super host two months running.

    A splendid spot to explore the east coast of Scotland. Our cosy Cottage has a clean, modern look, feeling spacious and bright, with bundles of natural light. Great train & bus routes link to Edinburgh. Easy access by car to Berwick-upon-tweed, Scottish Borders and a vast number of award-winning golf courses. Two well-lit bedrooms. Large lounge with log burner centrepiece. Beautiful Sun Room accesses decking; lending peaceful views over farmland as you gaze to the coast with bass rock in sight.
    Our Cottage is a single story bungalow with steps to access front and rear of the property. It has two well-lit bedrooms; one fitted with a king size bed and the other a single bed, with an option for a second single bed if required. There is a log burner centrepiece in the large lounge alongside a fully stocked log store, with the addition of some blankets, to ensure you’re kept feeling sufficiently snug on those chilly nights when the stars shine bright. The Sun Room has a comfortable sofa for you to cosy up and take in the stunning uninterrupted views and there is a dining room table set up, so you can take in the beautiful surroundings while you relax with a tipple of your choice. This room provides direct access to decking where there is a table and set of chairs for al fresco dinning as you take in the stunning views across the open fields. Once the sun sets there is a bench so you can star-gaze to your heart’s content. There is also a large side garden for you to relax in, should you feel like watching the birds up close. The bathroom has a bath and Mira shower, with toiletries and large Egyptian cotton towels. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle and dishwasher, with an array of crockery and utensils to help you cook up a storm, alternatively there are good restaurants and pubs near the cottage, one within a 5-minute walk. Torches are provided as there is no street lighting and minimal light pollution from surrounding areas. The driveway has ample room for three cars. This property is not suitable for small children, due to the layout of the decking area and also as the driveway is open to the road. Contact us regarding pet policy.
    Very quiet and peaceful place. Noise is minimal at night. Within a 5 minute walk of both an Asda supermarket and a pub/restaurant. On a clear day both Bass Rock and North Berwick Law can be viewed from the Cottage, with the latter providing a great walk rewarded with wonderful views west to Edinburgh, where on a clear day you can see Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh Castle, as well as great views of the coast once at the top. If you're a keen golfer, or fancy giving it a go, then there is an abundance of fantastic award-winning courses close by. Nature lovers can also take an inspirational visit to John Muir's Birthplace in Dunbar and explore the best beauty spots that East Lothian has to offer.

    Peace and tranquility in a gorgeous wooded setting yet easy walking distance to the beach, restaurants, harbour and station. The house, which has ample free parking, is a Canadian timber framed chalet set amongst an avenue of sycamore trees. The spacious room benefits from an ensuite shower room and balcony and includes tea/coffee facilities, TV, Wifi, towels, hairdryer and ironing facilities. Continental breakfast includes cereal, fruit, yogurt, fruit juice, toast, conserves and coffee/tea.
    The room has a private balcony with views onto mature trees in a quiet neighbourhood. The house is 10 years old and is unusual in its design being a timber frame eco house with solar panels and underfloor heating. The room is accessed via several flights of stairs from the front entrance. Although the room is self contained we welcome interaction with our guests.
    The house is set in a quiet leafy area of North Berwick making it a tranquil, peaceful location for our guests. The large garden attracts many birds and the odd squirrel and hedgehog. The house is ideally located being 5 minutes walk from the railway station, town centre and beach. The area is well known for its golf courses some of which are within walking distance.

    A cosy, rural cottage in East Lothian which is 1 mile from the village of Garvald and 3 miles from the village of Gifford (supermarket in this village). The location is on a farm at the foot of the Lammermuir Hills with lovely open views and lots of great nearby walks along the picturesque beaches, foothill paths & tracks. It's also a great area for cycling, the surrounding roads were used by Iron Man Triathlon in 2017 and 2018 as part of the cycling route! The cottage offers a truly relaxing stay in the quiet of the countryside although it is also only 40 minutes drive from Edinburgh and the local villages and towns are of course nearer. The cottage is very well equipped, details of facilities are below as well as under amenities. If you are unsure about whether something is provided or would just like to check something in particular please feel free to message me. The open plan sitting and dining room: A cosy, country sitting room on the ground floor with feature stone wall, wood burning stove, Smart TV and dining for 4 The Kitchen: Well equipped modern kitchen on the ground floor with wooden worktops for a country feel yet all the comforts of home with a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers and integrated appliances: electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher. The Bedroom on the ground floor: This bedroom has a king size bed. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. Deep pile sheepskin rugs either side of the bed add another sense of luxury. Other features include USB sockets both sides of the bed, wall mounted brass clothes hanging brackets, wall mounted smart TV, full length mirror and views out the front. The Bedroom upstairs: This bedroom can be prepared with either a super king size bed or 2 single beds. We value a good nights sleep and the beds provided have this in mind, the frequent compliments about the beds gives us confidence we have got this correct. There is a TV, chest of drawers, bedside tables, hanging space, mirrored dressing table area, USB sockets both sides of the bed, large velux windows with integrated black out blinds for a long, deep sleep and stunning views over the open countryside when you awake. The Bathroom: Spacious, luxurious bathroom with large double-ended bath, big enough for 2 and a fixed overhead shower. Wash hand basin and WC. Wicker-chat chair with soft sheepskin rug. Large velux window with stunning views over the countryside. Perfect space to relax and unwind with unlimited hot water, just add bubbles. The Downstairs Toilet: Toilet and washbasin on the ground floor just beside the back door. Complete with coat hooks above the radiator to dry out wet outdoor clothes. The Gardens and parking: There is an enclosed garden opposite the front door with parking spaces for 2 cars and a rear garden accessed from the back door.
    If country air and the sound of bird song is your thing then this is the right place for you. Many beautiful views can be found within easy walking distance. Recently installed walking tracks for the more seasoned walker can take you for many long hours of fresh air and fun! The Lammermuir Hills also offer many different walking routes. Bring the dogs and enjoy your break. The local village of Garvald offers a great little pub (also dog friendly) with good calibre meals prepared by the hosts Peter and Elaine. Nearest grocery shops, post office, cafe and 2 other pubs are 3 miles away in Gifford though.

Stugan ligger mitt i ingenstans men det var lätt att navigera till lokala butiker och Edinburgh med Google maps.   • Vi hade en härlig semester i denna vackra stuga. Inredningen var snygg och små finish som kaffemaskinen och färska blommor för en perfekt vistelse. Området är lugnt lugnt med bara ljudet av fåglarna och utsikten att njuta av från den vackra trädgården. Det finns så många platser i närheten att besöka med vackra byar, kuststäder och Edinburgh en enkel tågresa från lokala stationer. Trudi var mycket hjälpsam både före och under vår vistelse och var närliggande om det behövs. Jag skulle definitivt rekommendera en vistelse och hoppas att återvända till stugan för att njuta av mer av de lokala promenader och lugnt område.

  • Vilken Sök! Denna stuga är vacker, välutrustade, bekväma och mysiga. Vi (2 vuxna och 2 småbarn) kändes som om vi bodde någonstans lite speciell! Sängarna är mycket bekväma, utrymmet utnyttjas riktigt bra, badrummet härligt och hela stället var varmt och obefläckat. Stora känslor som omgivande belysning, toalettartiklar och färska blommor och Trudi kommunicerar väl och bryr sig om din upplevelse. Vi skulle definitivt stanna igen och rekommenderar denna stuga i en vacker del av East Lothian. Tack för en bra vistelse Trudi!

The West beach is literally on the doorstep with only a 5 minute walk to the Scottish Seabird Centre. Check in is between 2pm and 6pm and check out is no later than 10am on morning of departure. There will be someone there to meet and greet upon arrival.
    North Berwick is surrounded by beautiful golf courses and of course the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to eat out.

Vi tappade räkningen av antalet fotografier vi tog från fönstren i lägenheten med panoramautsikt över havet vid olika tidpunkter på dagen och ljus och havsförhållanden. Helt enkelt vacker. Våra värdar var hjälpsamma och mycket kommunikativa, lägenheten är hemifrån med alla bekvämligheter du kan förvänta dig. Vi stannade under en solig början av mars genom att gå på East Lothians fantastiska kustlinje och vi kommer förhoppningsvis att återvända igen när det är lite varmare och staden North Berwick är i full blom.

    The Maltings, Haddington is a converted mill building next to the river Tyne in beautiful East Lothian. My flat is on the ground floor so it is good for wheelchair access. There is a designated parking space in the car park. Haddington has some great shops, bars and restaurants. Edingburgh is 30 minutes by car, 45 minutes away by bus, or there is a train station at Drem close by. East lothian is great for cycling, walking or immersing yourself in our many varied ancient monuments & castles.
    Guests have access to the kitchen, lounge diner and their own private bathroom
    Haddington is an ancient market town. It has some terrific cycle routes with excellent coffee and cake stops along the routes.

    Basic but cosy & comfortable traditional stone cottage in the heart of a picturesque East Lothian village, 20 miles from Edinburgh & 10 miles from the beaches & golf at Gullane & Muirfield, with two pubs (both serving food), newsagent, farmshop, post office, grocers, local butcher, hairdressers. The easy access to Edinburgh by car or public transport and calm surroundings make this an attractive alternative to staying in the capital, especially in summer when the city is saturated & expensive.
    1790s listed cottage. Accommodation is quite basic and not at all luxurious. Small upstairs double bedroom with coombed ceiling (restricted height in areas). Small ground-floor shower-room. Small open-plan kitchen area. Comfortable sitting room with books, TV (with Arte (français), TV5monde and RAI channels), dvd, wifi. No garden. It is in a conservation area and one of the oldest dwelling houses in the village so might suit those seeking something a bit different, but those wanting luxurious surroundings and finishes should look elsewhere. A third guest can be accommodated on a blow-up mattress in the sitting room (open-plan with eating area, kitchen and hall).
    Close to village centre with its two pubs, newsagent, post office, farm shop, grocery shops, local butcher and hairdressers. Both pubs serve food and are equidistant at two minutes' walk. Riverside walks from the door (not suitable for young children or infirm due to steep unprotected drops in places). Walks from the door can easily be extended to take in Traprain Law hill from where there are great views of the village and the surrounding countryside. East Lothian's sandy beaches and world-class golf links are within 20 minutes' drive. The village is on the John Muir way. A bus service to Edinburgh stops 1 minute's walk from house (50 minutes to Princes Street). The county town of Haddington and coastal resorts of North Berwick and Dunbar are easily accessible.

    A small modern self-contained living space in open plan design with magnificent panoramic views over the East Lothian countryside. An ideal retreat for a single person or couple who enjoy rural living. The Little Blue House is situated on a smallholding with sheep, hens and geese grazing outside your window.
    The living space includes an equipped modern kitchen (with induction hob, oven, microwave and fridge-freezer), a large table, a corner sofabed, a chest of drawers, a wood-burning stove, a separate toilet and shower room and a mezzanine level sleeping area accessed via a foldaway wooden ladder (see photo) with a kingsize bed. We will provide bedding, bed linen and towels. You will be entirely self-catering during your stay although we do provide you with some basics like tea and coffee and some essential cooking condiments (salt, pepper, olive oil, cider vinegar). We will also make sure you have some milk, eggs and bread for your arrival and first breakfast. We can provide you with eggs, fruit and vegetables from the garden when they are available
    Our house (St Baldreds) is situated in the midst of beautiful East Lothian countryside. It lies just north of Tyninghame village and is within a short distance of Tyninghame beach (1 mile) which overlooks the Bass Rock, with its spectacular gannet colony from April to September, and adjoins John Muir Country Park. The area is very popular with walkers, birders, surfers and golfers. East Lothian offers visitors over 40 miles of stunning coastline with golden beaches , the John Muir Country Park and John Muir Way long distance footpath, several award-winning attractions like the Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick and the world’s finest links golf courses. We are also within 30 mins drive or a train ride from the City of Edinburgh. The nearest shops are in East Linton (2 miles), Dunbar (5 miles) and North Berwick (7 miles).

    The Wee Studio is a pretty cottage set within the walled garden of our home which is less than 10-minutes walking distance from North Berwick's beautiful beaches, vibrant High St and train station (Edinburgh 33min). The Wee Studio is light, airy and all on one level. It is comprised of a studio bedroom/living room, separate bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The Wee Studio is in a quiet and private location with off-street parking and its own patio area - you are welcome to share our garden.
    The Wee Studio is set in a quiet corner at the bottom of our walled garden which is accessed through a shared gate from the driveway. There is parking available for one car on the driveway. There is a patio area with table and chairs adjacent to a shallow pond on the approach to the cottage. The inside is comprised of an open-plan living and sleeping area with a fresh and homely feel. The living space is furnished with a dining table and chairs to seat 4, a sofa and TV/DVD player (freeview), plus Wi-Fi and a selection of family DVDs. There is a standard double and a single bed suitable for 2 adults or 2 adults and a child and plenty of wardrobe space and spare linen. A high chair and cot are available on request. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob in addition to a microwave oven, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge with small freezer compartment. The bathroom is a good size and has an over-the-bath shower. The Wee Studio has it's own central heating which may be adjusted for your comfort. Extra space is available in the garage or secure shed for bikes/golf clubs, watersports equipment etc.
    North Berwick is a charming and friendly harbour town with 2 beautiful beaches ideal for families and water sports. It has a varied and vibrant High Street well served by great cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and a range of boutique shops. Favorite attractions in North Berwick include, a 'stomp' up to the top of our local hill (North Berwick Law) to enjoy the magnificent views; a boat trip to see the famous Bass Rock and other island bird colonies; and a visit to Tantallon and Dirleton Castles, both in magnificent settings. For younger families The Lodge offers a popular playground and our local swimming pool is only 2 minutes away.

    A recently renovated traditional wooden holiday chalet facing Belhaven Bay, near Dunbar in East Lothian, Scotland. Sitting on the shoreline of the bay, Curlew Cabin faces a dramatic sweep of tidal estuary with a beautiful long sandy beach. Enjoy spectacular coastal views, snug accommodation for up to four people and an amazing choice of things to do on the doorstep. The cabin is in a unique hamlet of colourful timber holiday homes, positioned on the edge of the bay to enjoy the magical location.
    There’s an open plan living space with generously sized sofa, two easy chairs, a dining table and chairs for four, a cosy wood burning stove and double glazed windows showing panoramic views of the bay. The kitchen provides all the essentials; a ceramic hob, integrated oven and grill, vented hood, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, pans and cooking utensils plus crockery and place settings for four. You’ll find a helpful welcome pack of cupboard basics, (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, oil, condiments, washing-up liquid and loo rolls) plus kindling and firewood for the stove. To help guests enjoy a fulfilling and relaxing time while indoors, the cabin provides a Sony mini HiFi CD player and digital radio, a small selection of books, CDs and games but no TV. Wi-Fi is available at no extra charge for guests to access if they wish to connect personal devices, (though you may opt for digital detox!) There are two compact bedrooms comprising a raised, cabin style double bunk with storage and sea views in the first, then two single bunks with small wardrobe and storage in the second. The shower room contains a spacious shower unit with electric shower, radiator, sink and vanity unit and loo. All bedding, extra blankets plus two towels for each guest are provided but please bring your own towels for outdoor use. The beds will be made up ready for your arrival. There is a washing machine for guests’ use and a high chair can be provided for small children. There is an external shower area at the rear of the cabin to rinse sandy children, salty wetsuits and muddy dogs.
    Belhaven Bay is a beautiful beach and nature reserve on the Firth of Forth. It's part of the John Muir Way and is situated in the village of Belhaven, home to the famous Belhaven Brewery. Belhaven is on the outskirts of the historic town of Dunbar with it’s dramatic castle ruins, three working harbours and Napoleonic gun battery. There is an excellent sports centre with leisure pool (Dunbar Leisure Centre) and a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants in the town of Dunbar, a 10 minute walk away.     A deceptively spacious beautiful two storey traditional stone cottage fully renovated internally to modern standards, decorated and fitted out to reflect its seaside location. Edinburgh city centre is as little as 20 minutes away by train. Situated on a quiet street in a Conservation Area between the High Street and the seafront, with parking place. The coast to coast John Muir Way is a short distance away. There are a number of famous golf courses, sandy beaches and tourist attractions nearby.
    The Wee Hoose is a recently refurbished period cottage that makes optimum use of the space available. It is an ideal base for a couple or small family. It has a private parking space to the rear. The property has full gas fired central heating with a Hive heating control system, thermostatically controlled radiators and a heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is free wireless broadband internet access. Accommodation comprises a hall with plenty of space for coats and footwear, off which opens a fully fitted kitchen and a separate Lounge/ Dining area. There is also direct access to the Lounge/Dining area from the Kitchen. The Lounge has a wall mounted Samsung smart TV with Bluetooth sound bar and a leather sofa and armchair that comfortably seat 4. It also has a dining area with an extendable dining table and 4 chairs. There are an additional 2 matching chairs on the first floor. The Kitchen is fitted with twin stainless steel sink, ceramic hob and oven, cooker hood, microwave, fridge/ freezer, washing machine and contains a good supply of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. We keep it stocked with washing up liquid, laundry soap and fabric conditioner that is suitable for sensitive skins. There are also a few recipe books should you tire of eating in the local restaurants and want to sample the wide range of local produce! There is a large cupboard off the Lounge with an iron, ironing board, clothes drying rack, high chair, vacuum cleaner, etc. Off the Kitchen to the back of the house is a small paved courtyard which catches the afternoon sun, with a two seater bench and a lockable shed containing a bistro set and space for your bicycles, etc. Adjacent to the courtyard is a private parking space for one car (marked “Wee Hoose”) with further free parking available nearby. Upstairs there are two Bedrooms with coomb ceilings and a Bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a double bed from which you can see the sea view through the front window, plus a Velux roof light, both with blackout blinds, and has a double wardrobe and other storage space. There is a seating area at the front end looking out to the sea, with a bookcase containing books about the sea, binoculars and a telescope. Bedroom 2 also has a Velux rooflight with blackout blind and two large single beds, storage cupboards and a hanging rail. The beds all have good quality orthopaedic mattresses. Although we do not supply a travel cot, there is ample space for one in either bedroom. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower over the bath, and a shower screen, a non- slip mat for the bath, a heated towel rail, assorted toiletries and plenty of storage for your own. We supply large hand towels for use by guests. There are socket outlets with built-in USB charging points in the Lounge and main bedroom. Safety features include a CO alarm in the Kitchen, interlinked heat and smoke detectors, emergency lighting in the stairwell, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. Please note that we supply a safety gate rather than a stair gate, for use only across the entrance to the second bedroom. Because of the configuration of the space downstairs, it is easy to shut off access to the foot of the stairs, external doors, and the kitchen, using the internal doors.
    The town of Dunbar is on the North Sea coast of East Lothian, about 30 miles east of Edinburgh. The town is renowned for its high sunshine record, rugged coastline, sandy beaches and attractive countryside. It is steeped in history and was one of the most important Scottish Fortresses in the middle ages. Its ruined castle, which stands guard over the town's twinned harbours, once sheltered Mary Queen of Scots when she fled Edinburgh after the murder of Rizzio. Dunbar is home to John Muir Country Park which is a nature reserve that can be enjoyed by families who enjoy the outdoors and natural history enthusiasts. The Park is named after John Muir, the explorer, naturalist and conservationist, who was born in Dunbar. It supports a wide range of habitats, birds and plants and covers some of the most spectacular East Lothian coastline. For the golf enthusiast, Dunbar has two golf courses. There is a sheltered seating area by the beach just down the path across from the house, which is a lovely place to relax and enjoy the sea view and the sun. Dunbar’s broad high street is packed full of unique local businesses providing customers with a great retail experience and boasts several grand old stone buildings. There are award winning food and drink establishments and cafes, as well as art galleries and gift shops. Within walking distance and free for children are two nearby play parks, (one near the house and a large one opposite the swimming pool); and sandy beaches with rock pools. Our grandson calls it Sea Glass beach! (Buckets and spades can be found in the shed). Other family fun attractions in Dunbar include East Links Family Park and Foxlake Adventures. East Links Family Park is a farm-based activity park suitable for all ages. A train safari runs through paddocks of friendly farm animals and there are lots of activities including go karts, trampolines, soft play ball blast area and a tree-level multi activity fortress. Foxlake Adventures, Scotland’s first wakeboard cable tow is great fun for beginners and experienced wakeboarders. They have also opened a unique ropes challenge taking place over water. Dunbar is home to a leisure pool with wave machine, beach area, flume and other exciting water features. It also has a health suite with sauna, solarium and steam room, and a fully equipped gym.     The ground floor flat features a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable living space, one double and one single bedroom. The bathroom has both a shower and a bath. Please note that the shower is accessed by stepping into the bath, and up one step. Full gas-central heating will guarantee a cosy stay in the colder months. There's plenty of parking on the harbourside, even if you have more than one car.
    The Old Harbour House is literally a stone's throw away from both of Dunbar's historic harbours and ancient ruins. There's always plenty to see on a walk around the neighbourhood with the day's catch coming in, the harbour seal saying hello, the lifeboat crew practising their drills, or you can just soak in the natural beauty. Whether you enjoy fine dining, a craft beer, or both, just a 30 second walk will take you to either Creel Restaurant or the Volunteer Arms. Dunbar high-street is a short walk away and features great craft-shops, an award winning community bakery, several cafes and restaurants and the birthplace of John Muir. A real effort is made in the town to support local businesses and the benefits of this are apparent. Dunbar leisure centre is about 1 minute away and has a swimming pool, gym, fitness classes, and a sauna. There are two golf courses in close proximity, a surf-school operates from Belhaven Beach and for adrenaline lovers, learn how to wakeboard at Foxlake - approximately a 15 minute drive from the Old Harbour House.

The en-suite is off the bedroom with a mains shower and toilet. We provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap and towels. Hopefully this is all you need for a comfortable stay.
