It isn't often that you can combine a day of hiking with a beautiful canoe trip through marshlands. Pitt lake is the perfect spot for canoeing or even just walk along the beautiful riverbank can be very relaxing and enjoyable.

Maintained by the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest was established in 1949 from a Crown grant. There are a variety of trails to hike in the area and it is best to pick up a map at the office building by the gate to the park.

Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre is located inside the UBC research forest. They do not open to individuals but with a group of people you can make reservations to do all kinds of activities there.
