Lots of trails but if you want a quick 45 minute walk around the lake in the am (especially if it’s hot) this is a good close location to go.

Great for all the family
Good challenging hikes. Takes a couple of hours to reach peak and back go early in the am and take water especially if it’s hot

Another gem in the area - not as manicured as Maderas but call them as they have over 55 specials and the course is challenging and beautiful It is on the way to Ramona only about 20 minutes up into the hills behind the house

There are 2 golf courses here. A short par 3 executive course that is great for beginners and a longer regular course. Not the best in the area but certainly reasonable rates and a great place to learn

Remember to ask questions of the docents. They are either exmarines and have served on the ship or they have gone through the extensive training. They are a wealth of information and it's amazing to see all those planes parked on top of the ship
