Sightseeing
While you may not be staying there, it's right across the street and is a great place to eat and check out the history of this historic landmark. The museum, art gallery, grounds, etc., are all open to the public.

La Posada Hotel
303 E 2nd StWhile you may not be staying there, it's right across the street and is a great place to eat and check out the history of this historic landmark. The museum, art gallery, grounds, etc., are all open to the public.
If you plan ahead and rent a kayak/canoe/paddleboard from Clear Creek Rentals, floating from Mchood Reservoir up East Clear Creek is absolutely gorgeous. The first half mile is accessible by foot and unfortunately has quite a bit of graffiti on the walls. Once past this, the next mile and a half of paddling is through an amazing slot canyon complete with petroglyphs, cliff jumping, and swimming galore. Eventually the creek becomes too shallow for floating but is a beautiful riparian environment perfect for a short stroll. Expect to spend at least half a day out exploring.
