Although it's just two hours from Phoenix, Munds Park is nearly 7,000 feet in elevation. Even during the summer it's a good idea to have a light jacket in case of rain or cool breezes. In the winter time it's great to have snow gear for hiking and sledding.

Northern Arizona gets busy in the summer with a lot of travelers escaping the Phoenix heat. Dinner, events, things to do, tours, etc. should all be booked early if possible to avoid long waits or missing out.
