Old-time curvy rural roads. You need a vehicle to get around
We are on Highway 6 between New Denver and Nakusp.
Approximate travel times to Hills. Some routes require the use of ferries. Please check for ferry schedules with BC Ferries.
Calgary: 7 hours
Vancouver: 8 hours
Kelowna: 4 hours
Revelstoke: 2.5 hours
Spokane, Washington (allow time for border crossing): 5 hours
Bus route #74 (BC Transit)
Tuesdays and Thursdays, the bus goes by Hills (right in front of our house) at 8:25 am and 6 pm. Please check BC Transit website or call (250) 364-3262 for actual times and reservations.

The trail system around our area is impressive.
Please check Trails BC for information on our extensive trail system. Also, check out New Denver's Farmer's Market on Fridays and Nakusp's Farmer's Market on Saturdays during the Summer months. Finally, Sandon is a must see ghost town not far from here.

Bring good walking shoes, and all-weather clothing.
Our weather can be unpredictable at times, so bring pieces that can work in an unexpected climate. Also, take advantage of our trails and beaches with good walking shoes.
Please keep in mind we're in bear, cougar, and coyote country. Having bear spray and a whistle is a good idea.
