This point is also the designated Kilometer Zero, or the starting point traveling everywhere in the islands. You can also go to the seaside and drink up the supposedly fresh sea air.

Fort Santiago-
When the Japanese took the Philippines during World War 2, at the same time Pearl Harbour was bombed, a new and cruel ruler took up residence in Fort Santiago. They soon discovered the use of the dungeons and sent many Philippine freedom fighters to there death by either torture or execution. The bottom dungeons were also affected by the tide, so drowning in cells was not uncommon.
The US destroyed the fort during the Battle of Manila in 1945 and was soon restored.
Fort Santiago has been restored and you will find most of the areas preserved. Worth visiting inside the Fort proper is the Rizal Shrine, the museum where you will find a replica of Jose Rizal’s prison cell.

Travel and Leisure - Boracay
The island of Boracay is where you find:

It is known to be one of the best islands in the world and was recognized by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel+Leisure.
Lanterna Hotel Boracay- its just a suggestion--- if youre on a budget. The room is spacious and nice because its in white. (im attracted to white esp. for a room).
I was in Boracay last January 2021. The hotel we got was kinda from the beach, small and clean, but this one seems a lot better and the price, for me, is much reasonable.
