Food scene
Rule of thumb: When visiting Nashville for food, you typically should steer clear of places named after celebrities. Those places are great for music and drinking, but the real gems we've found for food are what you'll see here. We're always updating the list, so be sure to check back often. Happy Eatin', y’all!
Anything you eat there is amazing! We highly recommend the tacos as they have a surplus of meat and everything is fresh.

Established in the 1950s, this incredible restaurant is one we always suggest to visitors. A favorite amongst locals and tourists alike, this absolute must-visit place is full to the brim with Southern charm and all the eatin’ you can take in. Most famous for their biscuits, cured-onsite ham and BBQ, and fried chicken, there’s barely a weak spot on the entire menu.

This is an absolute staple to the area. Even though it bares a generic name that you've seen at countless other restaurants, this is its own beast. The food is so popular that it's tradition to wait in the line that forms around the block nearly every morning. Service is excellent, the food is incredible, and the variety of delicious pancake options ranges from sweet to savory. Oh, and don't forget to try the hash browns, as they are simply some of the best we've ever had anywhere.

There are a number of steakhouses in Nashville's food scene, but this is our favorite. Located in The Gulch, this place has some incredible recipes that you'll not find anywhere else, like house-made bacon with maple cotton candy, cream corn brûlée, and a popcorn and lobster dish that has to be tasted to be believed. Their cuts range from local farmers to Japanese wagyu beef, and they even have unique entrees not built around steak. The service is top-notch, and hard to rival in the area. Plus, you never know who you might see dining here, as it's a favorite spot for celebrities visiting the area.

This gem is tucked away a few blocks from the Broadway scene, but is always worth checking out. It's the best country-kitchen downtown, with great service and delicious food. The Bloody Mary is hard to beat, and the fried pork chop is one great way to start the morning.

BEST WINGS IN TOWN!!!!! Seriously, this place is full of local charm and a diamond in the rough. Locally owned and operated, this place attracts a diverse crowd all looking for the same great food. Ask for the "Trifecta" seasoning on your wings, as it's not listed on the menu. It's a combination of Nashville Hot sauce, Germantown Pub sauce, and lemon-pepper seasoning, and it's absolute perfection! Plus, if you work in the service industry, they offer a discount on your bill with proof.

Local favorite that’s pretty darn good! The grocery store setting is what Cracker Barrel always wanted to be, and you’ll notice it as soon as you get there. This is outside Nashville, but not to be missed. The environment is beautiful, as it’s situated on a waterfront, and the food is some of the best inland seafood you can get. It’s a very local place, with few tourists, but we feel it’s imperative to get the word out about this gem of a restaurant. Highly recommend the lobster bisque and smoked fish dip, and even the fried shrimp ain’t half bad!

Nashville isn’t known for sushi, but this place looks to challenge that notion. Based out of Knoxville, this spot offers some of the freshest ingredients around. On Monday and Thursday, Nama offers half-priced sushi on a wide selection of rolls. It gets crowded, but the wait is worth it.

Sightseeing
The hotel itself is the largest hotel in the country, without a casino, and can be toured by anyone not staying on-property. Inside, you’ll discover the Delta Atrium, with some great restaurants and a waterway, complete with gondola rides. There is also the Cascades Atrium that features approx 8,000 tropical plants, as well as a waterfall. From there, you can walk over to the Grand Ole Opry or even Opry Mills, a massive one-level shopping experience, with shops like Bass Pro Shops, a special Nashville edition of Madame Tussauds wax museum, The Rainforest Café, and many local shops and famous brands throughout. On the Cumberland River side, there is the General Jackson riverboat, that offers dinner-cruises to downtown's waterfront. If you’re coming to town for the holiday season, this entire area of Nashville is especially notable for going above and beyond in its celebrations, with over a million lights decorating the entire Opry property, to a massive ice-sculpting exhibit and ice bar, a holiday-themed show at The Grand Ole Opry theatre, and a Christmas themed dinner-theatre riverboat cruise on the General Jackson.

If you have a car, take in some of the beauty of Nashville's best scenic route. You can take it all the way to Mississippi if you'd like, but we recommend just driving for about 30 min each way and take it all in. The parkway is lined with wildflowers and rolling farmlands, with plenty of places to stop for taking amazing photos to add to your albums.

Yeah, we know it’s weird that we have a replica of The Parthenon, but it’s really quite remarkable to visit. The museum inside is also worthy of a visit. Of all the honky tonks on Broadway, this is the absolute best on the strip. There are three stages for your entertainment, and each offers a different experience for patrons. The service is quick and efficient (usually) and the bands they get never disappoint. Favorite stage is on the second level, in the acoustic area, where it's all about the music and not about the showmanship, but don't underestimate the indoor/outdoor rooftop that offers a damn good view of Broadway at night.

It’s been a destination spot for decades, and there’s good reason for it. You never know who you’re gonna see pop up for a show. This laidback cafe focuses on music and the processes it takes to create it. Each act you see is like witnessing masters at their craft, offering a wholly unique experience that will rarely be duplicated. Getting tickets is a little convoluted through the website, but be sure to do what you can to get them. Personally speaking, this is better than the Grand Ole Opry, especially if you’re looking to see music performed at its most stripped-down and finest.

Simply gorgeous music hall, with some of the best designed acoustics around. The acts that pack this place are as varied as the Nashville music scene itself, which makes it all the more exciting. Trust us, this place isn’t a stuffy symphony hall; it’s a modern day take on the very ideas of music and presentation, so check out the schedule and book a ticket. You won’t regret it!
Many greats got their start in this historic landmark of Nashville’s music scene. It’s small, intimate, and highly unforgettable. Bring quarters for the earplugs available by the bar. Also, marvel in the engraved wooden plaques decorating the walls of past artists who’ve performed there. This place has been around for a very long time, and it will continue to be an institution for decades to come.

This twin-screen drive in is open year round, unlike most theaters. Each screen has a double-feature each night, and the location is perfectly tucked away from the city to give you a great, dark, and old-school experience that’s hard to find elsewhere. It’s locally owned and very well-kept, giving you a blast from the past, without feeling like you’re actually stuck in the past.

Yes, it’s a franchise available in some metropolitan cities, but they offer some incredible Nashville entertainment that offers one of the more intimate and communal experiences around the area. In the main hall, high profile acts are available through the box office, while the outside stage in the lobby hosts free shows of up and coming acts. Oh, and the wine is actually pretty tasty, so be sure to try all of the varietals available.

For a rainy day escape, this is the best theatre in Nashville to get away. Aside from the standard premium offerings of IMAX and RPX, they have Screen X and 4DX, which offer 270 degree views or the ability to ride the movies, respectively.

This unique amphitheater is located on the edge of the Cumberland River, providing incredible views of the Nashville skyline that are draped behind the stage. This venue is opened only during the spring and summer, and it attracts a wide variety of high-profile acts to the stage each year. INSIDER TIP: If you purchased a lawn seat for a show, but the reserved chairs are not sold out, you can upgrade your ticket to the seats for the same price it costs to rent a lawn chair. Just visit the back of the lawn and inquire at the chair rental stand. Inventory is limited, so be sure to get there early. The last few times I did this, it was only $15 total for the cost of two upgraded seats, coming to $7.50 each.

Whether you’re looking for a great vinyl selection or a hard-to-find comic, this massive place has you covered. The employees are very helpful and willing to go the distance for your needs, so don’t hesitate asking for any help locating that rare piece. It’s in an odd strip mall that might make you think twice, but it’s quite alright. Just go in and enjoy hunting through the bins upon bins of music, movies, and comics.

Unforgettable, in every sense! Some of the best karaoke around town can be found here, and it’s all taking place in one of the most unique environments Nashville has to offer. You’ll find the locals crooning tunes (and being relatively good at it) here in the trailer-turned-bar, staffed with some of the best bartenders around town.
