Food Scene

...if you're staying longer than 4 days, you will likley get a wee bit tired of the oil, the fried foods, the jamon and you'll want something light, something clean - La Vietnamita where I sent all my guests and they all love it. It's right near the flat and is a great little space as well as atomoshpere. Lots to choose from from pho to curry to noodle bowls - meat and vegan friendly - it's a great spot and one of my frequent ones!

one of the best tapas/pincho experiences you'll have. This place has a great vibe and service. There's not much sitting room, but that is the norm in a lot tapas bars here. Very traditional tapas and pinchos (little pieces of various foods that sit on a piece of bread from the Basque Country) to choose from, you choose what you want, eat, drink and pay later. Great place! Kitchen opens at 8pm

One of my absolute faves in the city. In the Gothic quarter behind the cathedral. Great wine and food menu - tapas, plates, tostadas. Great service. Really great old stone long narrow space. No reservations needed.

For the coffee snobs out there :) I do not drink coffee, but this place comes highly recommended, has a great little vibe and the owners specialize in the most modern and unique techniques of coffee brewing. Also a good cafe with wifi!

Drinks & Nightlife

Plaza del Sol is one of those places you must see in the evenings. It's a large main square in Gracia that is surrounded by bars and restaurants. It's a popular spot amongst the locals, you'll find all kinds of people sitting right down on the cement with their own store bought eats and drinks most evenings, but there are also several bars/restaurants with terraces in the plaza itself as well. Great local haunt if you're looking for a place to grab a drink or quick snack in the evening.

one of my favorite plaza's in Gracia. It has several great little bars with outdoor terraces that all sit right in front of a beautiful stone church. One the weekends you can usually find local market stalls set up there, live music from the various regular buskers, swing dancers and sometimes it's just quiet and a great place to go grab a coffee or drink and read a book. Another very local spot in Gracia.

It's actually a long street that runs from near Gracia right down to the centre of town, But it has a pedestrian promenade down the centre and is lined from top to bottom with bars and restaurants with terraces as well as indoor seating. So much to choose from in way of Catalan/Spanish/Mediterranean food.
