The Dufferin Islands are amazing when they're lit up for the holidays, but they're a magical place to go explore anytime of year!

Hiking

Talk about one of the best hiking spots in Canada...NO BIG DEAL. Just minutes away from my Airbnb, I'm so lucky! Located deep in the Niagara Gorge, stairways lead to 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) of rugged paths that wind through this pristine pocket of Carolinian Forest, past prehistoric geological formations, wild flora and fauna. The Niagara Glen overlooks the rapid waters of the Niagara River and the natural phenomenon that is the Niagara River Whirlpool. **PLEASE be sure to hike to your ability. Stay on the trail if you're the type to only hike once every few months consistently or a beginner hiker. Be alert. Be vigilent. Don't go climbing out on big rocks in the middle of the rapids if it's beyond your skill level, and you're prone to hurting yourself when trying to get the perfect "social media moment"!!**

Stunning spot with tons of picture-perfect moments just waiting for you at each bend. Please be sure to be safe, especially when it has recently rained or snowed. This is probably my second favourite spot in the Niagara region to go for a wander!

Food scene

This is one of the few moments that the less I tell you, the better. Cocktails, food, and a surprising atmosphere. It's my local watering hole when I'm at this Airbnb (Kasa Kazam). A dear friend of mine owns it, and you can walk there in 2 minutes from the house. Don't leave Niagara Falls without checking it out.

Who doesn't like Ice Cream? This place literally uses local fruit and ingredients to make their ice cream, and it's AMAZING.

My favourite restaurant in Niagara. Period. End of discussion. Nothing more needs to be said. No seriously. I'm not defending that position. It's the best. That's it. Don't believe me? Fine. You're the one missing out, just leaves more homemade sicky toffee pudding for me.

Probably on my top ten list of spots to grab food, and a drink! The staff is absolutely wonderful, and extremely talented. I also think you should check out the amazing graffiti murals done on the walls near Twenty. When leaving Twenty, head towards Mahtay Café and you'll start seeing it. on your right hand side.

It's literally a PIRATE SHIP. Go check it out. It's on your way to Toronto if you're travelling there at any point from Niagara Falls. You can walk around the water, check out the ship, and take some STUNNING photos here!
