The Museum is set in attractive gardens, the Horniman Museum has something for everyone, and is a great alternative to the Natural History Museum if you want to avoid the throngs of tourists. Music lovers will enjoy their permanent exhibition of musical instruments, and there's also a neat little aquarium, where entry is a rather bargainous.

Brockley Jack is a traditional English pub with a separate theatre which has a full and varied programme. The pub has real ales, a food menu and multiple screens for sporting events. It is easy to travel to and if you drive there is on-street parking close by.

The National Gallery dominates London's Trafalgar Square with its neo-classical columns and portico designed by William Wilkins adjoining the square on its east side where it has been pedestrianised. Some of the finest examples of European art, ranging from 1260 to 1900, are included among the 2,300 paintings filling its halls and rooms. This bar has atmosphere, and a great pizza van in the garden. The decor is shabby chic and the sound system is awesome. There are also many live acts of different genre. It's a very diverse venue in terms of culture and live music.

Ladywell Fields runs between Catford and Ladywell and is around a mile long. The park is made up of of three fields with a river running through them. The park is a key cycling and walking route. It is popular with joggers and dog walkers.

There are some really good shops to be found here, including The Disney Store, Debenhams, Build A Bear, Boots, Superdrug, H&M, Oasis, Accessorise, Claires, Skechers, Three, The Apple Store etc. Not only are there the usual chain shops, but there are some lesser known places, such as a Steiff plushy store, and some nice jewellery shops too.

Crystal Palace occupies a privileged position in the topography of London – one of the highest points in the city, at 367 feet. The views, consequently, are amazing and the streets steep. The hub of the community is the central triangle formed by the one-way system of Church Road, Westow Hill and Westow Street, lined with pubs, restaurants like Joanna's and Exhibitions Rooms, and independent shops. Vintage is big here and the area is best on a Sunday morning, when junk shops and stalls spill out on to the pavements of Church Road. The glass palace that gave the area its name burnt down back in 1936 but the accompanying park is still a local asset with its famous dinosaurs and National Sports
