The Lion is Lucerne's main city symbol after "Kapellbrücke". It's a silent spot to enjoy. Don't miss to throw a coin backwards over your shoulder into the little water-fountain.
Nearby there is the museum of glacers, called "Gletschergarden", with it's well located "vista point" on the tower.

Probably the most exciting and most-visited museum of Switzerland. Full of adventures, especially for children within Switzerlands tallest and widest Movie-Screen, showing documentary reports and Holywood-Movies.
Contains a swiss-satelite-map to walk on and some fancy vehicles, boats and locs.
The entry fee might be the only negative aspect, which is about 50$ an adult.

Mt. Pilatus is available by having the train or boat to Alpnach and up with it's famous (and possibly world's steepest gear/cogwheel track. It's worth to take the alternative to take up a standard gondola to make it up faster and probably cheaper.

Having a walk lakeside is always worth some time in Lucerne.
U may walk along the lake until you reach the museum of transport in about 30 minutes (begining at mainstation).
From mainstation to Carl Spitteler-Quai it's covered with good Coffee shops, Bistrots and possibly with tourists. From then on it's quite silent and very romantic by having a walk along there.

When summer comes over Lucerne, people are enjoying the rare sun at "Ufschötti". Sandy beach and a big park to make sports. Even romantic in early mornings or cloudy days, when Lucerne Lake is mirroring it's famous Quai-Promenade on the other lakeside and dampships are passing by.
