If this is your first time in Chicago, I also highly recommend visiting a Chicago classic, Portillo's Hot Dogs, which is about a 10-minute walk from the apartment. They serve everything from Italian beef and hot dogs, to chocolate-cake shakes and salads.

A local Polish cafe serving a great variety of food. If looking to grab some quick food options, I recommend trying their Kebabs (ask for half chicken and half beef) or their "Zapiekanki" (Polish pizza-style bread). They also make their own homemade juice called Kompot.

So tacky that its amazing! This tiki bar is about a 15 minute drive from the apartment and offers a huge selection of tropical drinks. They also often offer groupon deals and have an outdoor patio which is great in the summer!

Wood fired brick oven pizza. One of the most popular restaurants in the local area. Authentic Italian pizza. My personal favorite is the Reginella. Recommended to call ahead to see if there is a long wait.
