Barcelona

BARCELONA is a city that you really should have seen. By train from Calella, and for only 5 euros, you will be in the center of Plaza Catalunya and the most famous street La Ramblas after more than an hour. You can use a city bus to see the city or go for a walk and taste the atmosphere. On foot you can also see a lot such as The Sagrada Familia or La boqueria, a gigantic market hall with vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. There is already an experience in itself. Quite apart from the many bars and restaurants. And ... How wonderful it is to be back after such a day in an oasis of peace in our villa.
Plaza Catalunya, also the start of the Rambla. So much atmosphere, so much to see. To be there is already an experience in itself.

True football fans cannot leave Barcelona without having visited Camp Nou. And for that you don't necessarily have to buy a ticket for a Barça match. During the Camp Nou Experience you get a good impression of the stadium, the club, prizes won and (former) players. A visit to Camp Nou can be combined with a day in Barcelona. If you look at the Sagrada Familia, you can also take the metro line 5 from there to go to Camp Nou. There are various options available on the internet about a tour and buying a ticket online to prevent a queue at the ticket booth. Take a look at the getyourguide website.

The construction of this holy church started on March 19, 1882 and will be officially delivered in 2026 according to the latest data. It is impressive. but especially the interior is spectacular. Because this Holy Church of Gaudi attracts more than 3 million visitors a year, it is almost a must to order "skip the line" tickets before visiting the Sagrada Família. You save disappointments and waiting time.

There are also special buildings that you can visit such as the monastery and the Basilica, where La Moreneta is located. If you like history, you can visit a medieval town such as Besalú. Enter the city of Besalú via the old bridge to relive the daily experience of the medieval inhabitants of Besalú, before wandering through the charming streets and finding your way to Plaça de la Llibertat. Along the way you'll find artisan shops selling ceramics, leather goods and other local crafts in small boutiques with stone walls and all the appeal of the cave of Ali Baba. Besalú is approximately 100 km. from our villa. Just above Girona. A visit to this place can therefore best be combined with visiting Girona with its medieval old town district with its Little Venice district on the river Onyar.
