If you like delicious pies, pastries, breads and coffees then you will love this place. My recommendation is that you go for breakfast or brunch as it is extremely popular and sells out quickly

The staff are friendly and efficient but unobtrusive. The atmosphere / ambience is very pretty and contemporary with a nod to the hotel’s past. There is plenty of off street parking at the back of the Provincial Hotel but it’s only a 10 minute walk from Skye House. And the food!!! I highly recommend the mushroom risotto - the best I have ever tasted. And the tarte tartin is like being in France. You can have a set menu at lunch - $45 for 2 courses or order from the a la carte. The wine list is also very good

A lovely winery in a great location. Great ambience - only 10 minute drive from the Arch of Victory. There is no food except for very yummy cheese plates but they probably wouldn’t mind if you brought your own while you are sitting indoors in front of a real fire or outside looking at the great scenery. The wines are delicious and you can tell that the winemaker learned his craft in France

Lovely little coffee shop with some gorgeous and different home decor items for sale. They sell the best homemade sausage roll I have ever tasted. The staff are friendly and the ambience is laid back - soft easy jazz playing in the background

The coffee here is one of the best in Ballarat. Its quirky having a cafe in a cemetery but it has a lovely atmosphere and it’s a pretty drive or walk around the cemetery. There are lots of lovely gazebos, seating areas and pretty gardens as well as a very interesting Chinese section

The Ballarat Farmers’ market is at Zoo Drive at the lake 09:00 to 13:00 on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month. There is also a farmers market in bridge mall on the first and third Saturday of the month from 9 AM to 1 PM Ballan Farmers’ market at 96 Inglis St Ballan from 09:00 to 13:00 on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Creswick Market at 19 Victoria Creswick from 09:00 to 13:00 on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month

There are many places nearby such as the lake and city centre. If you walk to the lake there are many beautiful grand old houses and gardens. When you are walking in the city Centre be sure to look up because there are so many historic buildings
