Littlehampton. 8 min drive. Much quieter than all the others in the area. A lovely big bay with sand dunes at the back. Dogs allowed off lead all year, Ringo Parking app or cash. Toilets and a cafe. Only 8 min drive from The Barn and a lovely place to go with or without a dog Summer or Winter. You can walk west to the other end of the Bay which is Climping Beach.

A hidden gem! At the end of a country lane that has beautiful old houses that you can drive slowly past you’ll find a fabulous place. At the back of Pagham Harbour (more nature reserve than boats) so you can park up and go for a walk before a meal. Outside seating area is lovely with heaters, lights and rugs for your comfort. The food never disappoints, at the pricey end and don’t expect big portions but it’s beautifully presented and delicious. Staff are great and attentive and I always look forward to going.

Fantastic beachfront terrace under old trees and umbrellas for shade. Newly renovated, part of The Beachcroft Hotel, table service, professional staff, dogs allowed. Honestly such a lovely place right on the seafront in Felpham. Walk along the promenade from Bognor, past Butlins and then you’re in Felpham. Parking available near the hotel and in Felpham too.

Choose from walking around the woods or park outside Slindon College (boarding school) and walk up to The Folly, have a picnic underneath it as you look out south to the views of the sea. My favourite place to walk, rest and natter with my best friend. Hardly anyone else goes so its nice and private.

Lovely tunnel of trees track up hill to the windmill, with a wonderful view of the sea. You can see the windmill from shripney Lane in the distance even though it’s a 15 min drive away.
