Located about an hour and a half away, and constructed in 1937, Timberline Lodge stands on the south slope of Mt. Hood at an elevation of 6,000 feet. This beautiful 55,000 square foot structure rises out of a pristine alpine landscape and is still being used for its original intent – a magnificent ski lodge and mountain retreat for everyone to enjoy. Legendary and awe-inspiring, it's a tribute to the rugged spirit of the Pacific Northwest. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Timberline Lodge is one of Oregon’s most popular tourist attractions, drawing nearly two million visitors every year.

The waterfall is accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84. It offers fantastic hikes and scenic views of the gorge and the waterfalls.

Originally called Agrivino, the new name is now Rosemarino Osteria (in Newberg) and it is listed as one of the top 100 most Romantic restaurants in the nation by Open Table. It's located in Newburg and is price fix. For about $85 you get a 5 course meal paired with wines. Dario (the owner) comes to each table to describe the meal he has cooked and why he has paired it with each particular wine. Your mouth will be watering by the time you are served. Each bite is better than the last. If you are planning a trip to wine Country this should be on your list of stops. Make reservations in advance as this is a popular place.

Charthouse is perched in the hills above the city and offers amazing views of Portland while dining. They offer an outstanding meal and even offer a nice happy hour if you just want to stop in for a drink and appetizers at the end of a day in Portland.

Start with the Grandma Agnes pickle cocktail--sounds weird but its fantastic and they are known for this drink. I love the flank steak...but you can't go wrong with this menu. NOTE: arrive at 4:45 to get your name in or you may not get a seat.

For the best Happy Hour nearby, I highly recommend Stockpot near Redtail Golf. You wouldn't think walking in that the food is as good as it is---but trust me, its really outstanding. We go for the Happy Hour (4-6) and always get the Hamburger and wedge salad--but really, everything is great. They are fast and efficient as well.

They offer typical pub food (tater tots, fries, burgers) but they offer a very unique ambience. They have several local spots...so if not this one--try Edgefield, Grand lodge, Kennedy School...they are all quite fun to explore.

Happy Hours
There are many amazing Happy Hours and they do not require drinking. They generally run 4-6pm and can save you lots of money on food.
