After a walk down 80 steps, you can relax on the rocks and watch the kids swim or practice your skipping skills with the rocks. It is a perfect places to spend a summer afternoon.

After a walk down 80 steps, you can relax on the rocks and watch the kids swim or practice your skipping skills with the rocks. It is a perfect places to spend a summer afternoon.
One of the most easily accessed views in the Copper Country - you can drive to the top of Brockway Mountain and get out to enjoy the views across the Keweenaw Peninsula. Every time we go up here, I feel blessed to call this home!

Stop in at the mine to visit their well stocked gift shop and to book a tour into the mine. It is worth setting aside a couple hours to experience the life of the miners who settled in this area. Some of the hardships they faced are difficult to imagine in this age of advanced technology.

Take the ride north to Fort Wilkins state park. The buildings in the fort are a walk down memory lane. If you're lucky, you'll pick the weekend the Civil War reenactment comes to town and there are activities all weekend long!

As long as you're not on a time frame, the Michigan House is a great option for dining in Calumet. The Michigan House burger or club wrap are delicious options; the fries are cut potatoes and to die for.

Slim's Cafe is a logical breakfast stop on your way to Bohemia (or the Keweenaw). It recently changed owners and the new owner is a brother of Adam's best friend. We have been up there several times since they opened and have not been disappointed. The last time we were there the Cini-mini breakfast was on special, and if it is available it will be my go-to meal. An egg and meat choice are the extras to a sliced cinnamon roll French toast. Just delicious! Go in and visit and let Al & Sandra know that Adam & Amy sent you up.

This spring we received such a wonderful gift in winning the Kraft Hockeyville 2019 contest. The Colosseum will be hosting a pre-season game between the Detroit Red Wings and the St. Louis Blues this September. Our little town is buzzing with such positivity about this event coming to town.

We camp here annually every summer with our extended family and our kids think summer is complete once we have that vacation! There are beaches for swimming, break walls for climbing, trails for running/biking/hiking, and places to visit and enjoy being on the shore of Lake Superior.
